I frequently drive my big rig in these conditions, i prefer this than southern, the only thing, girls with short skirt in cars are extremely rares. LOLL!!!
I've ridden my Harley at 60 Mph here in Pennsy when the actual temp was zero F. That translates to [-33F] wind chill. But minus 60 actual temp? Unimaginable for me.
I was stationed at wainwright and there were days we had to go out and train in that stuff. If i remember right I think 50 below was our cut off. But once you get to about 30 below it feels the same to me as 50 below.
I've felt -20 here in the Mid-Atlantic, and that was cold enough! Then again, our cold is far damper than yours, and you often don't feel it as harshly up in Alaska (It's even more dangerous that way, though).
That's really neat. I plowed snow in -30f before and yea I know what can happen to a car/truck. I always liked it. But seriously, if your fuel lines freeze? Are you prepared?
I was up at Algonquin Peak in the 'Dacks of New York experiencing what I believe was the coldest temps I've ever been in outside. Air Temps were about 0 to minus 10F. Wind chills probably put in at around minus 30. But, minus 60!!?? Holy crap! Thats f'ing cold!
The coldest I have ever felt was about -30 in Michigan. We had five cars none of them would start. Also had a wold and had to bring him inside because of the cold.
Seeing that ice fog on the road really makes me feel nostalgic for the interior. We used to drive to Fairbanks at minus 50 and it would be clear as a bell outside until you started gaining on another vehicle...then you gradually get engulfed in the impenetrable ice fog that just one vehicle can create. Imagine how nice it would then be in Fairbanks with thousands of vehicles spitting out moisture that turns to fog...
send more videos please. I can't believe it is that cold there and you can still drive. Do you heat your fuel lines? Would really like to know how life is being affected up there at -60F

I love AK. My brother and his wife live in Glennallen. I don't know how you guys do it. I can't even fathom what -60 feels like.

well, they do that throughout the upper midwest and west, too, though -80 is extremely rare. -45 is about as bad as it ever gets.
When does C02 start to freeze out?

I've read on her blog that some drivers there put cardboard or leather over the front grill of their cars to prevent cold air intake.
