  • I don't like it when people mistake being priggish or prudish as homophobic. It's not.

  • Regarding about 45 minutes in and also regarding callers that call in saying that the mind is separate from the brain , well what about the poor baby that was born without a brain and just the brain stem, that controls his breathing and keeps him alive, he cannot see , speak, learn , so does he have a "mind"? unfortunately not because a "mind" is the result of life experience and ultimately shaped by memories that are in the brain.

  • and the santa clause/indoctrination "analogy" wears off because it is easily debunked by staying up all night and seeing your parents place the presents under the tree.

with religion it is the supernatural claims that feeds the strength of the indoctrination.

  • @wingman662 If I said yes would you believe me?

  • Wow, rough show. But Matt & Jen do a really good job dealing with these people who seems to not actually know what they're saying.

  • I love watching Matt's face respond to the first caller... hysterical. 16:38

  • In going to surf in Satan´s church for some information.

  • I love how you see Jen cover her mouth (after the "genologists" statement) and then hear stifled laughter for nearly a minute.

  • cristians are dumb .

  • WTF i never heard of the internet being called Satan's church

  • @ApostateOfTheDamned If it's true, then i know which side i'm on.. the one that offers free information for everyone (as opposed to the one horribly flawed old book that never gets updates anymore)

Praise google, praise DNS/wikis/torrents/IRC/ect... eh? ^^

  • @wingman662

I am just pointing out irony, I personally liked the comment and gave it a thumbs up anyway.

  • @wingman662

The irony in that sentence in overwhelming.

  • Sometimes Matt's smile reminds me of Michael Moore

  • Fantastic theme song!!!

  • @612Tiberius It's by Bryan Steeksma and is called "Listen to Reason" if you're curious. The full song is also here on YouTube.

  • iam deciding which side to take on the abortion subject. so iam would like to hear some opinions. For those people that are pro choice. Do u believe that it takes a life? i guess i am wondering if we believe that a fetus is a living being.

  • @me25422 To be honest with you, its really got nothing to do with the fetus being considered life - What it really boils down to is whether the right to terminate a pregnancy outweighs the right to contrary. Because life is not precious when your own is in danger. Im pro-choice just because having a baby is a big deal and we could prevent the number of unwanted and unloved children by just allowing the 'choice'. Not everyone is gonna have an abortion - Only those that really cant manage or want.

  • @UnlimitedRaikoh i don't know if i agree. I think it completely has to do with the fetus and if it is life. Correct me if i am wrong. So u r saying that the fetus may be human but it is ok to end its life if the mother wants. I can't grasp this.

  • @me25422 No not if the mother wants. Im saying compared to the mother's life being in danger, I would value the life that is fostering another life. Considering the fetus as life/human, then in turns of taking a life then yes, its morally wrong. However if the fetus is just congruent to life, similar to a plant in that its living but you dont envision it 'Dying' or being 'Killed' per se. Personally, I think as long as the parents cannot manage to raise a child properly they shouldnt have kids.

  • @me25422

Abortions do terminate a life. 91% of abortions take place within the first trimester so those abortions do not terminate sentient life. The vast, vast majority of abprtions do not terminate SENTIENT life. Sentience (conciousness, awareness) should be the question, not whether or not the thing is living. A dog is living, so why is it worse to kill a dog than a man? Sentience, unless you're a speciest.

  • @ThirdRAILKink oh i see what u mean. obviously u don't mean only things that are not conscious or aware b/c remember a person in a coma is unaware but i see what u r saying. i still have a hard time with it. thanks for the input.

  • @me25422

A person in a coma who isn't brain dead is still sentient, but their sentience is dormant. Same with people who are sleeping. I've heard pro-life people make the argument before that unconcious people are somehow on the same level as blastulas, fetuses and early embryos but it's just not true. I go to sleep every night but I'm still a sentient human being while I'm sleeping, I'm just unconcious for a little while. That's my opinion anyway.

  • horrible theme song.

  • The sad thing is, I know I'm not going to see intelligent people in power in my life time. When I die, at whatever age that might be, even into the 100's, I know that Christians will still be on power.

  • @Sanosukeafo i think he loves death to be honest he killed everyone on earth. he spread plagues and illness. and he lets over 2 billion die without hearing the good word. idk maybe hes just a sicko.

  • @emanrulez1 I agree. These christian lunatics, especially bible belt creationists in the US are really warped in the head if they think "God" cares about helping them get their car started, or curing their mom's toe bunions, but he lets millions of people (often Christians too) who live in impoverished countries starve to death or die of disease. Diseases that industrialized countries have had vaccines for dozens of years.

He sounds like a real prick to me.

  • @wingman662 maybe he traveled from the past greek athens.

  • There is a Movement of Spirituality that is rising and taking hold of everywhere which takes roots from the form of Eastern but more in advanced form. Specialy this is sprang out in 1950's from the man who is lives in Swiss. He is now old man Billy Meier that who claimes to get information about incarnation not like from any other historical retroperspectives. Essencially, spirit is a form of energy that enlivens bio-bodies. People and animals have no memory about previous lives except an advan

  • The intro song is dedicated from Atheists to religion.

  • An dI guess the phone is the Satan's cousin?

  • Satan's Church? The internet? Wow... That was amazing

  • that intro song is horrible

  • Last caller....home schooled spelling B faggot

  • The greater the lie, the easier it is to believe it!

  • Derren Brown in my atheist videos, my day is complete.

  • For the second caller: What if there was no "order"/different "order" in the universe? It would fall apart/be completely different from what we have now. So, in order to have the universe be the way it is, it HAS to have this "order", or else you wouldn't even exist/you'd be asking why the universe had THAT "order".

(For all we know this is the only possible way the universe can work without falling apart, or maybe it is now just slowly).

  • Most of these calls should end with "BABABOOEY!!!"

  • Yay Jeff!

  • Hide your gays. Hide your wife. And hide your husbands, too.

  • we need more channels to show 16 and pregnant and "I am a teenage mom" if they are going to defund planned parenthood. Because you are going to see allot of them!

How about this a teenage pregnancy peagant, every small town could have their own!

  • @masticina Actually teenagers are the age group that are the least likely to have an abortion. The most common age group is 19-26 or something like that.

  • @chibicat13

Yeah.. kinda the point not. If you are that young you think you can just do it all. Once you are over 19 things look allot different.

  • @masticina Ummm.... I was just stating a statistic.

  • Please make an episode about Plantiga's free will defense, Oh Great Matt Dillahunty!

  • Thar first guy sounds like the ex-Satanist priest from the Religulous movie.

  • @TheAtheistExperience In regard's to Jocken's story, I know personally that a lot of Christian groups will gather information on a particular person. He said she went to a Christian camp which most likely means she either gave them personal information or they collected personal information on her before she attended the camp. These Evangelical Christians will then target you, "randomly" approach you on the street and say, "I'm praying for your sick grandmother Derpina.".....

  • @TheAthesitExperience ...You are then obviously taken aback that a "random stranger" stranger could know such a personal detail about your life, so you fall right into their trap by stating, "How did you know my grandmother Derpina is sick?" To which they respond, "I was walking just now when I saw you, and God spoke to me. He told me to tell you to have faith in him, and give your life to Jesus."

They know you have no clue that this "random" person is a member of the Church of the...

  • @TheAtheistExperience ...Christian camp you're attending, and that they were given access to your private information for the sole purpose of converting you via this deceitful tactic.

Religious groups do this more than you'd care to believe. Their thinking is (as I've had it explained to me), "Is it deceptive, and misleading? Yes. However, the ends justify the means, and if we have to tell a lie or trick someone in order that we may save their soul, then all is fair in religious conversion."

  • @corbitwilson In regard*. Wow, I am incapable of functioning without coffee in the morning.

  • Have you guys noticed Christians are now reporting atheists for "hate speech" even if you just express an opinion against them without being hateful? Turn this around on the them and even though atheism is not a religion, due to the fact that the the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that "Atheism is religion... even though it expressly rejects a belief in a supreme being." then WE are a protected group, legally. So we can report Christians, tit for tat people, tit for tat.

  • @AdamRaySiders I like your anagrams. You should try to put them into a poem or a witty writing.

  • This is my favorite YouTube channel, and this is one of my favorite videos.

  • What does this show seem to liberal, so democratic?

  • when i was a kid, i always aspired to be a geonologist ;)

  • @Murdulo Yes their's a meaning for everything. That doesn't mean a person w/o superstitious beliefs must automatically become labelled and put into a group. I reject that notion.

  • @CoreyfromEarth nobody needs to label things, its just much easier to do. By rejecting the word "atheist" you simply force yourself to describe yourself as "a human being w/ no superstitious beliefs or religion" rather then just call yourself an "atheist". Your free to do so but it doesn't change the fact that to normal folk who don't reject the word atheist, you are still an atheist which means you have something "specific" in common with other atheists which means your still in the same group.

  • @AllenQuatermain2de I don't necessarily reject the word "atheist," I reject the labelling of a person who doesn't believe in myths and so forth. As for the normal folk, nobody's really normal and I don't care what they think anyway. I appreciate your input. Thanks for replying. : )

  • @alienlifeform11 Irrelevant to you. What's your problem anyway buddy?

  • YOU HAVE TO RESEARCH THAT WORD SATAN! It is linked to a lot of mythological and metaphysical garbage.

  • I know you all don't know me, but I've been watching this show for so long. I just wanted to let you all know I'm leaving this label called atheism. I'm not submitting to a religion, nor do I have some new or strange belief system. I'm not an atheist. I'm not labelled. Labels are mentally lazy ways by which people assert they know you without knowing you. I am a human being w/ no superstitious beliefs or religion. I'm a person living on a pale blue dot in the universe. And aren't we all. : )

  • @CoreyfromEarth Nice. Sam Harris said something along those lines I think.

  • @Wiinajamizzi I think so too. : )

  • @CoreyfromEarth Wow, are you going to leave the male/female 'label' too? How about the tall/short 'label'? Just because you don't want to labeled as something is irrelevant.

  • @CoreyfromEarth If you don't have superstitious beliefs, you're an atheist by definition. THAT'S WHAT IT MEANS.

  • The funny thing about half the theist callers is that they're like, 'I'm sure you never got THIS on your show before...' Like it's revolutionary and the hosts are going to drop on the spot and ask for forgiveness and say they were wrong. And then they get angry when it takes two seconds to dismiss it....

  • The eye at the beginning looks stoned.

  • Jen is either wearing a Green or blue shirt. Cause the background is on her. :D

  • Wohoo!! The first call I've ever seen from my country of Sweden :)

  • rofl... fibonacci pi are everythings! damn, old pythagoras was right!

  • "geonoligist"

  • @whanethewhip I think the guy was actually saying it more like "ge'enalogist". I was guessing he meant "genealogist" from the first time he said it, but I was hoping not.

  • Second caller was high. Everyone trys to be deep when their high lol. "Like some kind of mathematical force of nature ya know? Like the speed of light ya know?" What.......... xD Lol yes.

  • @7:27 wait, wait, wait, what? u mean people shouldn't b thanked 4 behavin the way they should? they should just behave and not expect an award? some1 write this down, this is breakin news! :P

  • I'm only 2 mins into this and already I want to turn it off because of that stupid wind noise in the mic. Don't you guys have professional audio people ?

  • @pac6010 Tehy really kind don't...being a non profit organization can be a bitch sometimes.

  • Eye warship Satin

  • @Draginvry2 don't hav the balls 2 actually say it? or just makin fun of the Xtians?

  • @cruelbusiness1984

It's a reference to a 1992 movie titled "Stay Tuned"

  • Terrible into music. I doubt you could find anything worse.

  • Is it me, or did that first caller sound just like that guy from the Austin Stone church? Maybe I just hear all creationist silliness in his voice now. Or maybe they just all sound the same-- I dunno.

  • speaking about evidence of myth cities from the gospels and the guy in the video.

news can make a twist with stories.

when news passes to new people.

in my country the netherlands a man build a replica of NOAH's ark.

    and called it noah ark.

he said for fun the world was gonna flood in 2012, but he actually just build it for the show and fun.

but news went wild and soon the news papers said " A man found the ark of NOAH"

    lol

and the world was gonna end in 2012.

  • Satan's Church?? The Internet? Wow, stuck in the dark ages!

  • the atheist community is in texas because the people are too bright there. lmao

  • atheist rhetoric / doctrine most certainly parallel satanic doctrine. atheist are the least trusted group/religion in America.

  • @GetRealHoustonOdessa whereas America is the least trusted country in the world? So what?

  • why is matt always so defensive and smug?

  • @pwrayhi because theists are so freakin' offensive and ignorant

  • @Murdulo some can be, agreed, but I was wondering if he ever gets tired wasting his energy.

  • yay for gays and no for god

  • non profitable... thats an understatement

  • Somebodys gota carry the flags for idiots HAHAHA

  • The idea that no Federal money gets used to pay for abortions is just wrong. If I have a budget to spend on “A” and “B”, and the government says I will give you money as long as you don’t use it on “A”. All you’re going to do is take all your money from “B” move it to “A” and use government money to fund “B” The result is you now have more money in “A”. I actually support women’s rights, I just support limited Federal government more.

  • New York is a real place.

    Sewers are real.

    Turtles are real.

Ergo...the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles must be real.

I read it in a book.

    ;)

  • @SinnFein4ever

    you dont need a book.

you just need a voice in your head , like Mozes had to tell you the truth..

the voice in my head says he is god .

and he is a pink flying fluffy elephant from beyond space and time.

he also says im insane and need medicines.

    but , those are details:)

  • @ImmortalUniverse

God looks like Jigglypuff. I have undeniable scientific proofs. The evidences are overwhelming. God appeared to me in a vision, where He looked exactly like the character Id from the game Xenogears. Then, I learned how to own my friend in Smash Brothers using the character Jigglypuff. This is overwhelming evidence that God is, in fact, Jigglypuff.

  • @SinnFein4ever the Pacific ocean is real. Providence, Rhode Island is real. Therefore, C'thulu and the other Great Old Ones exist. Worship them, or be doomed.

  • @Brandt761

    XD

    Yay for tentacled monsters!

  • @SinnFein4ever

    That's what I say. I'a R'yleh!

    (;,;)

  • @Brandt761

(phone rings) Hello; you have a collect-call from Chthulu.

    Do you accept the charges?

  • The Phone Call of C'thulu...

    it's coming...

  • @Brandt761

    Here.

    It's for you.

  • I'm pretty sure that the first caller is from Athens, Greece. That would explain why he doesn't understand half of the words the hosts say.

  • Jen peeples ... ummm... ummm.... ummmm... lol

  • LOL

This episode has a really funny prank call.

  • bye....

  • @PoisonMemes Lucky you, Satan's supposed to be a really good lay.

  • @PoisonMemes

So change it to a cotten-polyester blend.

I don't think that they can stone you to death unless you're actually WEARING it.

    ;)

  • @PoisonMemes NOPE. Chuck Testa.

  • @Lleanlleawrg

haha it took me a second to figure that out. Too bad Satan is spelled with two A's but I got your drift.

  • Comment removed

  • how come its so hard for people to understand the burdon of proof?

It doesnt matter who believes what or who you listen or not listen too.

  • @rwbru844 For how long? Given the current pressure sexual health services by fundamentalist Christians, We should expect stoves with manacle options in stores in two weeks; bans on women in shoe stores in three weeks; finally a legal requirement to complete at least two pregnancies every year from ages 14 to 40 in a month. The real question is of course where the hell are we going to put all the used diapers?! 8^P

  • "You're a prank caller, aren't you?" "A what?"

  • @Lleanlleawrg who has disappeared, since when are atheist Justin Bieber fans?

  • I got a quick question... I dont believe in god and am kinda i guess atheist.. and my friends.. or so called friends.. think im freaking weird and crazy for thinking that.. what should i do about this? thanks!

  • @noble381297 Well, here are two possibilities: You could either try to have a rational conversation with them about why you're an atheist, and hope they will either see your reasoning and either drop their faith or at least accept your position - or - You could just not bring up the subject and let them think whatever they want.

Personally I'd aggressively argue with them until I either alienated them or won them over, but that's me.

  • @Lleanlleawrg Thanks, but ill try the 1st way.. and if the doesnt work.. then maybe the 2nd one!!

  • @noble381297 The other unmentioned possibility is that your "friends" only liked you as long as they thought you believed in god and when they find out you don't you'll find out that friendship is less important to them than having dittoheads around who agree with them about everything.

In which case, to hell with those guys. You can do better than two-faced assholes for friends. If, of course, that's the way it goes. Probably won't, but it's a real possibility.

  • @noble381297 well, if they don't accept you for who you are, then get new friends, but if they're cool with you, then who really cares?

  • YOU ARE MY FUCKIN HERO MATT!!! yeah, all caps bitches.

  • im not saying yall are wrong or anything.. im actually kinda atheist.. i actaully dont really know what i am haha.. i dont believe in god though.. but what or who created the human race? plz relpy!!!

    p.s good episode!!!!

  • @noble381297 "i dont believe in god though"

Then you're an atheist. It's really a "default by definition" thing.

"but what or who created the human race?"

"Who" is asking exactly the wrong kind of question, because if someone created humans, where did that someone come from in the first place? You haven't answered anything even if you did independently prove a god did it

"What" is just evolution. The same thing that caused all living things to show up. It's that easy.

  • @EdwardHowton o ok.. sorry i.. i guess... explained my self wrong...

  • Really though I'd like to see smarter theist call in because its pretty much like an extension of the blue collar comedy tour...give them a real challenge

  • What did he call the condition at 46:34?

  • @Stinukli

He said hemispherectomy, which is incorrect. What he means is corpus callosotomy, where the corpus callosum (the bit of nervous tissue connecting each brain hemisphere) is severed. This is usually done to treat severe epilepsy where no other treatment has proven efficacious. This results in ipso facto two different individuals in the same body, unable to communicate. Hemispherectomy is an extremely rare procedure where one hemisphere of the brain is removed.

  • @Geebsee Thanks for your helpful and intelligently forward-put response.

  • @Stinukli

You're very welcome. And remember kids, neuropsychology rules!

  • Why do people from the southern USA pronounce "ten years" like "tenures".

  • @daddyleon Average IQs drop suddenly as you approach Bible-town Central.

  • @michaelreusser okay, haha, but it was Jen Peebles that said that xD

  • Another thing to think about with the guy who had the grand story with his sister is this: Do you really think God is going to try and save people with such ambiguous techniques? He sends a stranger that knows your grandmother's name to give you a message? How asinine a method to convince people of something. How about show your fucking self to us instead of going in a round-about method including strangers to make us think that the story is more plausible. What a dumb and unreliable method.

  • I am no genius, but the many questions asked by the callers are so moronic. Don't they have a brain?

  • Oh my fucking god, the people that call into this show are so stunningly ignorant.

  • Thanks for this! I really enjoyed it

  • lol how does Mark (David) keep getting through?? I wish i could live in Austin so i could screen the calls for them and make sure he "Mark"doesn't waste any more of this wonderful show's time.

  • An angel of an aborted baby visited me once when I was praying to the Goddess Mrs. Tits. It said: "Thank God I was aborted. After seeing all of the war, crime, corruption, hunger, disease, disaster, and evil in the world I am glad that I was aborted and went to heaven." So anti-abortionists, why are you guys against abortion? I mean if the soul goes to heaven then is abortion really bad?

  • Some form of order was required to cause Pi? Has that guy actually looked at pi? It's not exactly the most orderly number. There's literally no pattern to it. If some form of order that's capable of making structuring math itself caused pi, then pi most certainly would not be the value which it is. The only time pi is a round number is in base pi, base half-pi, base 2*pi, and so on and so forth. Even then, the natural logarithm is still just as icoherent as Pi in any other base and vice versa.

  • Matt got his flu shot 14:00

Deniers of evolution asked for last years flu shot.

  • @hopokuk

    Does 'hopokuk' mean bitch?

    Yep.

  • @Obesedragons To you or any other comment to me, I don't believe in God, never have, but why would that affect my political viewpoints?? I'm not a pro-gay activist baby killer I just don't believe there is a god.

  • Before I watch this, is there another appearance by that troll Matthew/Mark/Luke/John pretending to be a Black guy/British guy/Intelligent person?

  • @MultiUniv3rsal fuck off. Describe yourself.

  • I am arguing with a creationist. Can someone PLEASE help Me defend against the prophecy in the bible that predicts Israel becoming a nation again. My back is against a wall and as of now it does seem like a real prophecy that came true. HELP!!

  • @coopersnoop A lot of wealthy and influential people, who know about the prophesy, have spent the last thousand or so years making sure it came true. No supernatural explanation is needed. Best of luck with the argument.

  • @coopersnoop Simple, there's more Judeo-Christian people in the world than any other religious group. It's not hard to imagine that all those millions of people with the before-hand knowledge of said prophecy working in at least a loose confederacy to make said prophecy come true to try to square the circle.

If there's a prophecy that says a virgin shall bear and conceive a child and it hasn't happened, what are the odds that someone will come along and claim to be that guy?
