It's a nice enough kick. I think my problem with this video is the poor standard of refereeing. It's sloppy and lethargic. The judge and referee saunter back to their spots and generally hobble around with little sense of urgency. Each time they stop, the referee goes on for too long, eating into competition time. The officiating could have been much more refined, fluid and efficient. The Japanese pronunciation could use some work too. Referees are facilitators. The bout isn't about you!

I do karate my self and honestly that was a very slow fight and the were very slow kicks.

I just got my black belt and I'm 3rd best in Australia for 15 year to 16 year olds and I kick and punch a shit load faster and I win my fights in under 1 minute so get better before you start posting on YouTube and I do shokokai karate if u want to know

im impressed that your leg moved that fast, but the title fastest kick in the world, is an overstatement, and could come across as "big headed". something you may need to watch out for. and to all other youtube users, it may not be up to your standard, but give the guy a break, he's excited that he did a fast kick, he's not claiming to be bruce lee or anything. all offencive users should be ashamed of yourselves.

@NJ93x Clearly wasn't a point. Torimasen was the right call considering yoko & mae geri to the head/face are dangerous, prohibited techniques not to mention reckless. Saying that he seems flexible enough and should have managed a mawashi geri to the head scoring ippon.
