@wipers86 Yeah I'd agree, if you're going for a distortion sound with the mustang, you'd probably have to change at least one pickup to a humbucker, but personally I prefer them with single coils.

@wipers86 Lol, I was considering buying a Mustang but I've decided to go for a telecaster or a tele thinline instead, I haven't had much experience playing Mustangs so I'd warrent that the pickups aren't great, especially since they are considered a student guitar

@wipers86 Haha, I've played on both, and I love the feel of the telecaster. I mean the Mustang is nice, and the shorter scalelength makes it way easier to play but it doesn't feel as natural as a telecaster. Plus, with the fat round neck on a telecaster, you can easily clamp your thumb over the E and A to mute, or play chords and stuff. Telecaster is a superb guitar.
