Ulster was the last Gaelic stronghold, they gave without a doubt the MOST resistance against British rule to this day. Previous to the plantations, the British were afraid of Ulster.

O Neill, O Donnell and Maguire were testament to this. The myth Ulster was always seperate to her Irish bretheren started circulating as Loyalist propaganda. Ulster had the same relationship to Meath (central power) as did Munster. We have always been united, under the war against foreign rule :)

If all of Ireland is given to the Irish, then guess what?... you can still fulfill your wish to remain part of the United Kingdom.
