  • I doubt youenze have windmills in your yard or solar panels on your houses. Not until you turn you heaters down and your lights off will the demand of coal go down. You should be thankful for MTR so you won't freeze in the dark.

  • Where can I sign up to help the coal companies? I love mountains and would love to have some of the removed dirt in a glass jar as a reminder of how great our coal industry is and how great the mountain was.

  • The Bush administrations has been in bed with with large corporations and they have been screwing people over because the money talks to them. The bigger these corporations get the less government will do something. To quote Melissa Etheridge at Live Earth "What happened to us America?" And here's the answer. We fear the government when it's really needs to be the other way around. "'That government is best which governs least." I'm not promoting chaos, I contribute to peace. Bless you all.

  • Here's the big secret of WV

    JD Rockefeller4

    Just like his Grand Pappy

    Earth Raping Energy Baron !

And you people keep voting for him !

  • what alot of people think is that our government isn't donig any research into cleaner more enviornmentally friendly energy sources, when really thats one of the govs main concern. people always say "we can stop using coal and oil!" but really, its a long prcess to change from coal to oil. it can't happen overnight but it is happening.

  • Actually that's not true bush has only just recently addressed the problem and he's not even REALLY addressing it because oh yeah he and his friends run the oil companies and that would be bad for profit

  • wow. congress has passed so many bills surrounding this topic and has george bush vetoed them? no. so get back in your prius and drive off a damn cliff.

  • I hate to tell you this but I don't own a car, nice one slick... And George bush may not have vetoed them but he she as hell doesn't help enforce them in fact most of the government doesn't... You can go and look up all the little stories about how they've violated the law and no one did anything about it because the people there are poor and you know how it works if you don't have the money you don't have the power

  • And just so you know that's a choice for me not to drive a car.

  • Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen. Matthew 6:10-13
  • We should fly REAL Memorial Flags at every mountain top removal site! This is the HORROR! WAKE UP PEOPLE! Satan is devouring the planet! Through the use of Human Beings! What happens when we are done with these mountain tops? Move on to the next one! And after we've used them all? What will we have left for our... forget our children... US! AT THE RATE WE ARE GOING! WE WILL SEE THE GREAT APPALACHIAN PLATEAU'S WHEN WE ARE 80!

  • If clean energy industries could be strengthened, not only would we be able to divert jobs in that direction, but the long-term environmental costs of coal mining would be avoided. The problem is the Bush Administration is bed with coal companies so making any real substantial changes to our sources of energy is near impossible. Some very large, serious changes need to be made if we are ever to produce energy in a clean, sustainable fashion.

  • Thats a good hope but people are NOT going to go with juice. I dont care who they are. Stopping it just sends it overseas where they have no regs to deal with.

  • YOu like the cheap electricity but you slap the miners in the face who risk their lives every day that give it to you. Hypocrits.

  • we have to change today because water, air, and land quality are common to us all. You know the children look up to us. Time to find the clean way of living to earn their trust again even if it means no electricity. Gonna be a rough road ahead I reckon.

  • Actually, we work WITH miners, and ALL the people in the coalfields. Its the coal-companies that are stealing their jobs, denying them decent wages, and sending them into unneccisarily dangerous situations.

  • I think this type of destruction should be stopped, by whatever means possible.

  • wow, this gives good reason to use solar and wind too. Maby the gov. or oil companies can save a small percentage of oil/gas sales to pay for all the solar and wind projects. But I dont know, maby oil company can begin to shift jobs over to alternative energies now because I dont want to wake up and find out there is no energy available for electricity. Who are the thinkers out there?

  • Camerontech are you being payed by some mining company to say this stuff or are you really that stupid??? MTR mining is not necessary, it takes away jobs from miners and destroy's the enviornment...What is necessary is for everyone to hear this message, APPALACHAIN MTS are being DESTROYED and we have to stop it

  • it takes jobs aways from miners? are you on crack. mining this type of deposit underground is more dangerous, more expensive and slower. why would any company that doesn't want to go bankrupt decide to go ug instead of surface.

  • mining is necessary, a lot is done for the environment, but what do you expect when you move so much rock?

  • Aren't we more intelligent than that?

  • intelligent than what? we should stop mining?

  • More people need to hear about this

  • Very good message.
