  • This song was awesome before he gave up his roots... I loved this song, and most of Coreys stuff because it reminded me of my times in the south east, and UGA.... This version completely ruined him for me.

  • i love it eather ways, downtown is in the vid, im happy about that, and love this vid, and keep it goin corey!

  • Now I'm 26 feelin more like 43 my hairlines disappearing and I never get ID'd my clothes are out of fashion no I'm not cool anymore in bed by ten oclock each night and up at half past four but I still go down to that colllege town when the bull dogs play at home and drink keg beer from a trash can till the whole damn things is gone*

  • I bet you Corey's having more fun now than he ever did at 17 or 21!

  • I wish that I could go to one of his concerts every couple weeks. I have 6 of his cd's cloaded in my car, and they rarely move!

  • Dam Wish I was 21

  • Your a fuckin boss! Every one says your songs remind them of me

  • this song reminds me of me and my boys. hell we do this this is our athem song now

  • Not as good as original. Still love your music though.. I relate so much

  • this dude gonna be at copper dragon in cdale and i wanna go but i aint old enough it sux #wishiniwas21

  • @cdtnplyr you only have to be 19 to get in te bars in carbondale im only 20 and im still goin

  • @heelmonster4 i know but im only 18 and it sux cuz my bday 24th feb

  • I will be back in Athens this weekend right where he's at. Lol.

  • Dude makes me smile

  • it is true i can't wait till im 21! :)

  • suckers! im from canada! i only have to wait till 19!

  • We get it people you're upset he doesn't sing about UGA football the whole song. Doesn't stop it from being great.

  • @georgiahoosier40 The old song wasn't all about UGA. It had a whole different sound. Nice try though ..

  • @clairewilley147 Talks about it a good deal more than this version. This version has much better production if you mean different sound. Other than that it's a pretty similar song with a few different lyrics. Nothing crazy

  • @clairewilley147 ye it was...

  • i miss the original version of this song from a few years ago. but i love seeing him finally on tv

  • its called a professional recording studio been listening to corey for a long time I'm glad the guy is getting some attention he is an amazing song writer and singer

  • this is my cousin, kentucky cousin. im a smith!

  • i will be 21 in 15 days

  • I used to be his student at North Gwinnett High, man, he was popular....

  • Corey Smith you met some Marines in Myrtle Beach (one was my son) and instead of you guys chasing them away from the bus you shot the shit with them and made their New Year. My son and his fellow Marines were pretty stoked about the whole experience. He then turned me on to your music and I like what I hear and I'm turning my buddies on to it. Having grown up with Gary Holt from Exodus and Kirk Hammett from Metallica my musical taste vary. Thank you for spending some time with the troops!

  • Everybody needs to stop being so cynical. You people make it seem bad that he is actually getting a little big. You should be happy for the guy, not calling him a sell out.

  • All originals sound better!!! I'm going to see you live tomorrow!!!! Woooo!

  • never heard the old version but this is great

  • what happened to the lyrics!? And his voice... :(

  • The old version kicks the shit out of this. I can't believe the sound change.

  • what the hell happened to the last verse?

  • I love this video. So true.

  • WTF Has the music industry done to the REAL Corey Smith??? I don't like this version. Money hungry record labels. SMH! -_-

  • I must agree, live has the gritty sound and not 70 layers of audio tracks.

  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS VIDEO.

  • i agree that he needs to become more popular, but he sounds better performing live than what mainstream made him

  • He's way better live. Saw him with Dierks Bentley last week, he is really a hell of a performer

  • The original is way better, and those glasses are way gay. I'm sorry, I love your music, but those are terrible. Your new "popish" stuff sucks. In your song "If you Call that country" you make fun of Kenny Chesney because he makes mainstream music, hate to tell you man, your new music is starting to get mainstream... just a heads up.

  • @day11c yeah exactly.

  • yeah no shit..mainstreem has been pissin me off.

  • I really wish he kept it like it was, the video is cool I just wish it was the old version not this "mainstream" version

  • corey smith needs to stay himself and not the sell his soul to the music industry. i know he wants to make it big. but listening to this version and his new video for maybe next year just makes me so mad. he changed lyrics and melodies. i understand evolving as an artist but selling out is so different.!

  • I dig it..artist grow and evolve. lyrics change and mean more over a period of time..corey reps athens and uga..don't hate unless you're a song writer are vocalist...and have made money, videos, and great music..keep on rockin corey..

  • This sounds like an opening to a Disney movie not Corey Smith music.

  • what the hell is this. this isnt coreys voice

  • Fuck all you losers that disagree or dislike Corey's music or his idea to better his song and make it fit his age now. He's an artist and a visionary. Half of you idiots can't even compose a sentence correctly. Much less a song. So if you don't like what HE does with HIS music...don't listen to it.

  • 15 people must not know what good music is

  • This song brings back memories....

  • everyone else notice the change last verse?

    bull!

  • People driving by him are probally like"wtf is this dude doing:)) theyres traffic

  • Totally fucked this song up.....Terrible...

  • need a video for "CAROLINA"

  • bout time he got on CMT --- use to go see him at ECU!!!

  • this song used to be better

  • i love the song and no disrespect to corey but i liked it before they changed his voice

  • This guys music is such a big part of my life I could laugh and cry listenin to this song RIP TRENT MANN miss you big dawg.

  • I hate I can never find these lyrics just the other virsons lyrics

  • Coming back to the top comment just made my life.....

  • How is that a song this good can be out for 5 years before it reaches my ears??

  • will be 27 this month and from columbus,ga and grew up from the time i was abt 16 and i went to school at athens tech , when everyone from athens to columbus knew abt him he didnt get air time or reco. that he had real talent . and know i hear this song on the radio 2 to 3 times a day, hate to it be 6 years ltr but good him. cause me and my friends litterlly thought u wrote this song for us, good luck man

  • I remember back in 2006 when I was 19 and first entered the Army and got this song off a friend... it's 2011, and he makes a music video to it, and I get out in 10 days. I say win. lol.

  • Man you slowed this WWWAAAYYY down dude!!!

  • Comment removed

  • i was 17 wishing i was 21. now 19 and still wishing. will be 20 in 84 days. :D and i wont remember that night.

  • my friend is 17 wishen he was 21

  • i wish i was there

  • heard him at the barbecue festival in Lexington, NC last week, and to all of the haters that dislike this song he said "its my song and i can do what i want with it"

  • like to older version alot better

this is good just not as good the original

  • Love the song! The line about being the youngest and too cool for football games and homecoming parade was me for sure. Also looks like a younger twin of my friend Robert.

  • Glad Corey's finally getting the recognition he deserves. Old listiners or new of him, he's great and never dull.

  • wtf i liked the old version better not this shit corey no no no no no no no y did you do this to your godly gift?!?!?!

  • i heard this song for the first time the other day. i now and a fan of corey smith just because of this song. i cant get enough. keep it up corey

  • thumbs up if ur glad corey smith made big money for his great voice/lyrics and are stoked that now u can hear him on the radio (who cares if we heard him b4 everyone else now the WORLD gets to hear corey!!!)

  • I'm from Gainesville and have been listening to Corey Smith for about 6 years.. However, this song seems like a sellout... BTW GO JECKETS lol THWG

  • @Maddoxdawg HELL YEAH RAMBLIN' WRECK

  • he's from my hometown! love you corey!!!!!

  • THUMBS UP if you've actually seen him in concert. :)(:

  • first version is so much better all good artist are selling out.

  • When the fuck did they change this song? i havent listened to it in years but what the fuck??

  • OMG. That's my town! Go dawgs!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Just turned 22 today. Lame

  • its funny how you call him a sell out do yo get paid to do what you love i doubt that. So cut the guy a break he has earned his spot among them up in Nashville.

  • sell out

  • @MrHobo624 nah he hasnt sold out yet...we will see what future holds though

  • @MrHobo624 mrhobo at least he doesnt live with his mom and he not sold out he done more than u could , only reason you was born was cause the your parents car broke down to the abortion clinic

  • sell out

  • I cant help myself Thumbs Up!!!

  • He used to teach at my high school :)

  • @GSliceyo i bet he was a kick ass teacher! ahah

  • Original lyrics are 10x better. The audio sounds messed up in this to

  • 11 people arent 21 haha

  • Corey Smith....Thank you for making growing up in a town of 2000 fun. Backroads and booze

  • Great song, but the original recording from his first album is better ...there's something simple and magical to that recording. This one's still a great song, but it lacks the "magic". Not hatin ...just sayin. Love Corey Smith :)

  • I don't listen to Country for the most part I don't like it I like Metal and Rock, But Corey Smith kicks ass. All my friends and I love his music. Major jump from My favorite bands which are all Scremo.

  • Can't say I'm a big fan of country but this song kicks ass$!!!!!

  • i have been listening to corey smith forever it seems, i like the original lyrics of the song better but the video is still pretty kick ass.

  • Damn, I remember watching this video when it had 2,000 views.

  • Thumbs up if you like Corey Smith before the music industry did too much "work" on Corey's voice.

  • @GeneralTuts Like a boss.

  • @GeneralTuts it aint the music industry....he just sucks..

  • This song is great................ I love corey. I have been listening to his stuff for a long time. Hes my favorite singer....

  • Thumbs up if you listened to Corey in Athens!

  • I was singing along to this until the lyrics were different from the original. Damn. I'll listen to the rest, but I'ma listen to the original 5 times to counteract this version.

  • @AGMAYV idk.. i kinda like em both.

  • they need to do a vid for from a distance

  • thumbs up if Corey Smith was your World Geography teacher

  • Corey tells it like it is... nothing beats a saturday night on clayton

  • Comment removed

  • he took out the bulldogs game part...gay

  • He is amazing live

  • Thumbs up if you think he looks like edbassmaster with those glasses on...

  • 10 people never heard corey smith play this song live!!! check out my cover of something to lose by him if yeah get the ChaNce!!!

  • I own the bar they shot this video in

  • I like the original way better, but guess he had to make the change to attract a wider range of listeners?

  • I like this song, but it just can't compete with the original.

  • Thumbs up if you knew about corey smith before 2006!

  • I love your music. Kinda miss the verse about ga bulldogs even though im a die hard carolina fan. Keep it up. Cant wait to see you in Chatt

  • im14 and as much as we teens say that we want to grow up, part of us are scared. We look at our parents and we make trouble because thats what we're gonna remember when we start a conversation with "I remember when..."

  • Kinda sad

  • awesome stufff!

  • corey needs to get away from the mainstream thou corey was better when it was the corey we would go to the bar or to the beach to go see

  • I personally like the first better nothing beats "id go down to the college town when the bulldawgs played at home, id drink keg beer from a trash can till the whole damn thing is gone"

  • And now im only 26, feelin more like 43.. my hairline's disappearing and i never get I.D.'ed:)

  • The original had more of an edge to it - but I still like it, despite the changed lyrics.

  • its a good song, but ive been following corey smith for a while. This is nothing compared to the original. I dont like this version.

  • @mitchellchildress Yea at his concert I went to over the summer, he said he'd changed it. It was actually funny because he said, "Alot of people say they don't like the change to the third verse. I say fuck 'em its my song I'll do whatever the hell I want to with it." Lol. It was hilarious. I do agree I don't like the whole background thing and all the effects, but its still a nice song.

  • ha i just wonder why corey is always wearing sunglasses....is he blind or something? haha

  • @sjbaseball6

Actually he has a glass eye. He was a teacher at my rival highschool and some of my friends said he used to take it out and put it on the desk during tests and tell them he always had an eye on them haha. Cool guy, I love his stuff.

  • @MrZachMorgan you live in gwinnett somewhere cause thats where he taought

  • @MrZachMorgan wow now i feel like an ass...haha but yea that is funny and pretty cool, thanks for telling me that

  • i saw him at minerva. awesome guy

  • Ok, I don't know what rock I've been livin' under, but I had never heard of this guy until I happened to catch the last few lines of "Wishin' I was 21" on the radio the other day. My daughter thought I was losing my mind because I was scrambling around trying to find my phone so I could look it up. The song really hit home in many ways to me, but just as much, his voice is great!

  • Kinda sad he changed the last verse, but it still works.

  • What is everyone talkin about him selling? he didnt change the lyrics, he just added a freakin piano and bass line to it its the same damn song.

  • Corey should not of changed the lyrics. Seems to mainstream. He's following the likes of Eli Young Band and Casey Donahew.

  • song is great but so much better live

  • this song is sooo much better live. this version doesnt do it justice

  • I think he messed up his own song by changing the lyrics

  • I leave for college tomorrow, and yes, I wish I was twenty one.

  • Going to see him at The Bluebird on Sept 23rd in Bloomington, IN.

Been following him for many years, hes going main stream but i still dig his stuff. Meant for the torn guy going against the grain.Got every CD he's ever put out and anything you can download of his. Broken record is a damn good album, you can tell he's evolving in music. Def big time now.

  • I followed the old Corey Smith religiously. I learned every song on guitar. What ever happened to "If That's Country"? Corey has become what he once hated. I'm no longer a fan. You sold out and you're losing long time follwers because of it. I think this was a bad move to your true fans, and a great move to your new ones. See you around Corey.

  • @SheerHeartAttack2112 go to his website and read his journal entry he wrote about that very thing, about people saying he's a sell out, i felt the same as you at first but you should read that entry it will change your mind

  • I like the keg beer from a trash can version better. but coreys still amazing

  • MY FAVORITE CONVERSATION STARTS WITH I REMEMBER WHEN!! SO FN TRUE

  • Just gonna say i would much rather hear the original version... I have seen him live twice and the original is always the best.....

  • thumbs up if you had Corey on your playlist before he hit CMT!

  • @2012mjohnson I don't watch CMT... When did he get on there? I have seen him 16 tmes.... AMAZING!!!

  • @2012mjohnson

HELL YEA FOR ABOUT 5 YEARS NOW!!!

  • i remember those good ol days with a fake id best times of my life in college towns

  • I turn 21 today. Had to hear this song.

  • I wish I was 21!

  • been seeing corey smith since i was a freshman in high school im going to see his concert in KC this week and i hope he will play the original version of 21 as well as if thats country, ha just because hes now country doesnt mean he still cant make fun of it....love corey smith

  • love it

  • Love this song! Corey Smith, you are awesome! <3

  • No matter how many times you hear it it never gets old

  • i loveeeee thissssssssssss songggggggg... :)) :))

  • This is one the best songs ever

  • such a great song!! :D heard it on CMT and i just love itt!!

  • Wow, I had no idea he looked like that!

  • as corey said " i made some changes to this song, and some people dont like that. well i can appriciate that. ... but at the end of the day, its my song and i can do whatever the hell i want to it" haha corey smith is awesome. either way this is such a great song and, really makes me appriciate being in high school and being 17.

  • original was so much better. but this one is okay

  • I've opened up for Corey a few times and he is the hardest working musician I have ever been around in my life. When I heard this on the radio today I was so happy to hear that he is getting the play that he deserves. So no one use the term sell out because he has worked hard for all of this.

  • My penis is really hard

  • @TheCline17 fag

  • My new favorite singer/songwriter. One of the realist.
