What's interesting is that although Sweets keeps joking about Coldplay is they are the exact type of pop-rock that him and his real band would hate, so he probably not only insults them in the show but really hates the band. Anyway what I love about Bones is it is intellectually stimulating while maintaining a slight romantic tension (between Booth and Bones) and keeping humor incorporated throughout. It's pretty much a flawless show.

Just because a band performs a certain style doesn't mean they hate other bands. Just because a writer writes a certain way doesn't mean you know them. So just because John and his band play a certain style doesn't mean you know what he listens to.

In a way it's stereotyping. For example Britney Spears listens to Korn. So just because she sings pop/rock...she listens to heavy rock. People surprise you.
