There is more to being a good crew than putting together routines. Put a bboy out by himself or with a group of dancers he doesnt practice with and it wouldnt be surprising to see him not do very well. With a crew of good friends as support, bboys seem to do better and have more energy. A crew isnt just there for routines. Routines have their place in battles, but these days they are just abused.

I think technically a lot of Hustle Kids routines/solos didn't really count for much as they weren't real commandos. They kind of just jumped in and threw down. In a competition battle like these it kind of makes your run invalid and Hustle Kids did a lot of that whereas Foundnation's routines and solos were linked via a true commando. Both crews were dope though, no doubt.

If we're watching the same battle, I really did see hustle kidz throw some routines in there, which were lame ones and nothing compared to foundnation routines. And anyways, FN won in both ways imo.

These were called crew battles for a reason, it wasn't called 8v8 at Evo 5 (that was just the people limit). As a crew you have to work together and routines perfectly display that. As far as I'm concerned if you can't put a good routine together you're not a good crew.

@EmptyGrocerySack We're birds of a feather I suppose. Routines have been around forever and crews like Ground Zero and Massive Monkeys kept them interesting during the late 90s early millennium, but as of 2010 I wish they'd go away. Definitely overrated . . .

@Samplesz Well I'd say at least for Evo 5, Maximum and Found Nation kept it fresh with the routines, but just doing some footwork in unison and then having a guy walk into the circle is not a routine.
