Without a clutch dump, mine does about a 7.2 0-60 dead stock w/ manual trans. I have never tried a burnout start, but figure it wouldn't cut more than about .3 or .4 off my time. 6.8 tops. Conventional wisdom puts it around 7 seconds 0-60 with a good start and a manual (cite: MotorWeek car test, available on youtube), anyone claiming sub 6.5 isn't running stock or more likely is simply lying.
i got a automatic 99 328is with 130k miles. I have never actually timed it i know for a fact 0-60 is under 7 seconds. probably on the low side of 6 seconds. I beleive 0-60 for these is rated at 6.3 seconds (i could be wrong). im not sure but i think mine does about that time
Did you build up some revs for a launch with the clutch in? Cause the needle stayed at zero but when you dumped the clutch it shot to 2k and went from there.

@jsk8drummer you ARE wrong, thats normal acceleration for an auto
boostedwolfie 7 months ago
@boostedwolfie mines definitely gets to 60 much faster than 8 seconds that i know for sure

I had a 5 speed convertible that ran a 5.5... stock. The straight 6's were beast.

not bad though... if it was a 5-speed it would've been faster.

I have a '98 328i auto w/150k that repeatedly runs 0-60s in the low 7's.

A few questions: 1) Do you still have that car, and 2) How many miles are on it?

was that powerbraking or is it manual?
motoxkid92 3 years ago
didnt powerbrake, so manual if u call it that
scubakobe 3 years ago
alright awesome... id take it easy on that 10 year old car lol :)
motoxkid92 3 years ago
hmm, not too bad
obviously, its an E36 with automatic pushing out 190 bhp so that's why you're a bit slow along with the heavy weight
nonetheless, pretty good vid
