For Republicans to call healthcare reform Armageddon is over the top and ridiculous! They deserved to be mocked and dismissed for their stupid characterizations!
Every developed country in the WORLD has universal healthcare! So if universal healthcare could end the world it would have ended it long before Obama's rise to power lol!
@luvitluvitbaby Government-controlled healthcare is bankrupting every other developed nation that has it. It's unsustainable. The ONLY way to control costs is to increase personal control and responsibility.
@ensignbay That's not true lol! Canada isn't bankrupt, neither is Norway or Australia.I could keep going but you should get the picture. 16% of our GDP was going toward healthcare and rising while everyone else stayed at about 11%. On top that they got better health outcomes than us and covered everyone!
The U.S. staying with the status qua would be like you paying $7.5 million for a $150k house in a $250k valued neighborhood! That would be stupid on your part and you should know this.
@luvitluvitbaby I didn't mean the private sector Canada is bankrupt, but the Canadian government was heading toward insolvency. Canada has made some reforms over the past decade that has CUT the size of government. The Canadian economy has responded well. Canada proves that big nanny state programs are not sustainable.
Norway and Australia are MUCH smaller than the U.S. and don't have millions of poor illegal immigrants stressing their systems.
@ensignbay I understand, I'm not for total government control and I'm not for absolutely no government involvement. I fall into the middle. I don't believe government should be a crutch for the lazy, but it can serve a purpose in assisting us with a base line for a civilized society. You wrote "Norway and Australia are MUCH smaller than the U.S. and don't have millions of poor illegal immigrants stressing their systems."

@luvitluvitbaby The US Constitution delegates ZERO power to the Federal Government to run entitlement programs. Constitutionally, this power is retained by the States and/or the people.
The federal government is simply not inherintly structured to manage much, really ONLY those powers listed in the Constitution.
Now with more big-government countries being downgraded, this is borne out in Europe as well.
@ensignbay The U.S, Constitution makes no mention of entitlements specifically in favor of or against, because entitlements didn't exist at the time. It did however make a reference to the common good of our society.
I would like to point out that the Constitution never mentioned television, radio, the Internet, automobiles or iphones either. Would these items be unconstitutional too?

you know damn well they arent taking shit from small businesses, that make less than $250,000 in profits. the goal is to make businesses that make huge profits pay more, as every conservative usually gives them more of a tax break than a small business. @amurphyl I did include a bunch of primary sources. It is you that needs to learn. Let me ask you a fundamental question: How does it help a business (small, medium, large) when the government takes a portion of it's profits?
@amurphyl Okay, we're making progress. Then the government burdening businesses by taking MORE of their income when the economy is hurting and businesses are struggling is a BAD thing. So, why are the Democrats intent on taking more income from businesses next year? Do we not need more jobs?
You can see at the links I provided that revenues increased when taxes and regulations decreased - from Coolidge, to JFK, to Reagan, to Bush.
Obama criticizes wall street, banks, corporations, pharmaceuticals, etc. Bush Criticizes Terrorists. You (ensignbay) cannot accept anything you say as being wrong. Ironically, this is a microcosm of the presidential regimes you adore oh so much. Just as you can never look inside yourself as a possible source of problems, and must place the blame on everyone else, so does, say Bush. Naturally, you are in agreement with people who show the same qualities. its psychology.
@GretchenDawntreader Obama has already outspent in two years what Bush spent in eight. You cry over Bush's spilled milk while Obama has flooded the basement.
And Wall Street is in bed with the Obama admin. Wall Street is also a small, tiny portion of businesses in American. The vast, overwhelming majority of business owners and managers in America are good, hardworking job-creators.
@ensignbay Bush fought 2 wars off the books like they didn't cost anything. Obama is honest and put them on the books. Amazingly, war is expensive. Also, massive spending to fix the economy that Bush broke, at least partly with his tax cuts that are supposedly so good for the country.
So if Obama has had to spend a lot of money, at least understand why before you spout off.
@ensignbay I said nothing about spending being good or bad. Spending is necessary when economies collapse or wars are waged. The premise of the video and your spilt milk/flooded basement post is that Obama just decided to toss money around. Both wars and economic recovery expenditures were due to things set in motion before he was President.
@GretchenDawntreader You are wrong that federal government spending is necessary. It does not create wealth and value for the fed govt to take money from producing individuals and businesses (thus hurting them) and give to others.
Govt does not produce jobs, wealth, value. It only takes. Entrepreneurs create jobs. Bush started the stimulus, which was bad. Obama then passed more stimulus and added more bailouts. All have failed.
@ensignbay Right. Government bad, big corporations and rich people good, only the rich do good things, poor people suck, you could do without the government because it's not a producer. You might have noticed that the bailouts are being paid back with interest, GM had the largest IPO in history, and either WSJ or NYT (I forget which) reported last quarter businesses had record profits last quarter. Because everything being done is so, so bad. And Obama hates business soooo much.
@GretchenDawntreader Your using extreme strawman arguments undermines your position. Govt has a very limited, but needed role. Read the Constitution. But, it does not create wealth. Govt can only forcibly take and redistribute. When govt takes money from productive businesses, it puts a burden on those businesses. And most businesses in the U.S. are small businesses. THESE create jobs. So, why, if we need more jobs, would you want govt to take more money from businesses?
@ensignbay If I exaggerate your position it is only in proportion to the extent to which you mischaracterize mine. Your language about "producers" (and for that matter, straw man) is right off of Glen Beck. Those huge corporations who you think are so terribly burdened by the terrible government are only able to make dollar one due to government regulation of commerce and international trade, unless you want to go back to trading corn for horseshoes. Who knows, maybe you do.
@GretchenDawntreader Obama wants to increase taxes on those who make more than $250,000. That will include MILLIONS of Americans who pay taxes using the individual tax form. Therefore, Obama IS burdening job creators. That's not rocket science.
Small businesses employ half of all U.S. workers. Do you want more jobs? Don't increase taxes. Evidence: google "sba" and "frequently asked questions."
@ensignbay You don't even understand the proposals. Let's say the tax cuts are maintained for income 250k and under and not for over 250k. Let's say your "job producer" who treats his business as personal income (what corporation actually does this?) and this person makes 300k. That person will pay 3 or 4 percent more on 50k, and maintain his tax break on the first 250k. That person is going to pay $1,500 more in taxes.
How many jobs would that person produce with $1,500? CRISIS!
@GretchenDawntreader You're an economic illiterate. Tax increases don't incentivise job creators to take risks to grow. Taxes are already high. You raise them again & it's another nail in the coffin of growth. Add to that the massive new costly Obamacare regulations, & companies have no incentive to take risks.
Trickle down worked. Reagan dropped unemployment 7.62% to 5.49% & inflation from 10.35% to 4.08%. Reagan had the economy growing at 5-8% at this time in presidency. O's econ is stagnate.
@ensignbay you know what incentivises job creators to take risks? Profit. The increase would put it at the level it was under Clinton, when we had RECORD job growth.
You know what creates the profit that incentivises job creators to create jobs? Lower and middle class workers who have more money.
Note that Obama took office in emergency mode to recover from a pre-existing crisis! Comparing 2 years of this broken economy and blaming it on Obama is what is truly illiterate.
@GretchenDawntreader Gretchen, gretchen. Reagan dropped the top marginal tax rate from 70%. AND he decreased the size and scope of government and regulaton. Therefore, businesses were getting to keep more of their profits. Clinton raised taxes in a booming economy when businesses could absorb the hit. You can increase businesses' burden during a recession. Obama is doing both.
Go to miseryindex dot us and see how much Reagan improved the economy.
@ensignbay I don't care about what it was before Reagan. You said how great things were during Reagan and his taxes were much higher than either proposal currently being worked on, which you seem to think will CRUSH the economy and suppress job creation. Oddly, taxes 10% higher did not under Reagan. And you explain away success under Clinton without crediting him at all.
You probably don't know that everyone in the US got a tax break in the 2nd stimulus. Doesn't fit your opinions.
@GretchenDawntreader The misery index is the inflation rate and unemployment rates combined. These are not abstract figures. I've compiled some comparisons of the Reagan and Obama economies. Go to festivaloffacts dot blogspot dot com
I thought the stimulus "cuts" were tax credits. It's income tax rate cuts that make a difference. And if you want more job creation, make it easier to be successful by lowering tax rates and cutting costly regulations.
@ensignbay paying less taxes is paying less taxes. Folks like you just don't want to give Obama credit for anything, ever. Which is why debating things with you is such a waste of my time.
Also, chart on Rachel Maddow last night shows that during Reagan, the rich got massively richer while the incomes of the rest of us was flat. search for "Rachel Maddow- GOP tax bonus for rich ignores failure of Reaganomics" and ya know, she doesn't make this stuff up.
@GretchenDawntreader The rate of inflation is very real. Deflation and inflation directly effect every dollar in your hand and the value of anything you own. And the unemployment rate is a real figure.
And I make WELL under $40k/year. I just see that I want those who create jobs to create MORE jobs. When times the economy is strong & taxes are raised, it's doesn't do good, but it doesn't hurt as much. When the econ is weak, taking MORE money from job creators HURTS.
@ensignbay paying a little more taxes to someone who is very rich means almost nothing. Corporations who create real jobs (not one or two) are...incorporated, and do not function on one person's bank account or tax rate, but on corporate finance and taxes, and corporations routinely find ways to pay almost no tax.
You can ask me over and over to pity the plight of the rich, for whom everything has been tilted their direction for decades, and if you aren't one of them, then I'm done with you.
@GretchenDawntreader You are spewing your opinion -- and it is unfounded. Uncertainty in the marketplace and marginal tax rates effect how and when people invest in business.
You are thinking as an envious, greedy liberal instead of a business-owner or economist.
@ensignbay I could combine job offshoring vs skirt length, and those would not be abstract figures either, but would not say much meaningful about the economy either when combined to produce some "index." You pick two things that support a certain view, and whoa, significance!
As a blogger with incentive to put up a wall of charts supporting making the rich richer as the solution to all things, I don't doubt you yourself benefit from these gifts for the rich, which means you are just greedy.
@ensignbay also, I recently heard it reported that the Fed was worried that inflation was too low. So we have really low inflation and high unemployment, and a misery index around 10ish. (I'm not on the page anymore.) I scrolled through the monthly graph, and aside from peaks under Ford and Carter in '75 and '80, the current years seem relatively steady and non-alarming. It's also a made up artifice, kind of like credit default swaps and fake AAA bond ratings.
@ensignbay also, you might want to wiki "Taxation in the United States" where even an economic genius like you could read that any increas on income over 250k would be from 35% to 39.6%. During the presidency of your idol Ronald Reagan, that top rate was 50%. Clearly, if we want the best of times as they were under Reagan, we should really hike tax rates far more.
I'm sure you will find some way to turn this simple statement of historical facts into some sort of liberal plot on my part.
@ensignbay also, aside from the details of the proposal, renewing my initial point, that it is indefensible for the GOP to block everything from unemployment benefits to START to tax relief for the middle class unless they get this bonus gift pack for the very rich. Noting once more, even the rich benefit from the 250k tax break, while the 250+ break only benefits the rich. Except for whatever you say will trickle down on the rest of us, and we saw how well that worked...the rich got richer.
@ensignbay and it only undermines my position in your eyes. I can freely mock you at will because I find your love affair with unfeeling rapacious industries laughable. Exxon paid no taxes last year. Neither did GE. The big cats find shelters and offshore their income and find all sorts of ways not to pay their share for the maintenance of the country upon which they feed. Warren Buffet says he pays lower tax rates than his secretary. Someone who's rich doesn't need tax cuts.
I'm Korean, and I see Obama's arrogance long time ago. If American don't see his arrogance, I think America has a big problem in the future. I've never seen this arrogance from the "world leader."
Thank you for your ability to show the world what fools we all have been to allow this Chicago Thug to bully his way into the highest position in the land!
This video is just as good, if not better than, the American Rising video! I'm favoriting and sharing this with my friends and family! Thank you for making today a good day!!
Excellent video! Another perfect example of how the Libs project their tactics on their opponents. Sadly, most people don't do the research you do. They just buy Obama's drivel.
Obamar is a narcissist. Of course he cannot help himself, after all, people adore him, they faint when he walks into the room, they chant his name over and over, he's been called the Messiah by Louis Farakhan .
@schmarcie You know what's funny, is Obama talking about Medvedev going to the "headquarters of Twitters" to set up an account. Obama is a doof. Check out my Obama Gaffes video. It'll open your eyes.
@ensignbay I love this video. I think that you did a great job. I don't like Obama's politics. I think that Obama is about as eloquent as "Joe Bite-me" off the teleprompter. I warned everyone I came in contact with before the election that Obama is a member of a non-Christian, Marxist, Socialist "church" & when Kissinger said before the election that Obama was primed for the NWO I knew this country was in TROUBLE! And now things are even worse than I thought it would be! Lord Jesus help us
@schmarcie Whatever Obama's religious inclinations are, he is certainly all about enacting the failed (time and again) policies of Marxism. I agree with you that it's even worse than we imagined!
He will learn all about dismissive during the next two election cycles. Asteroids many not have been falling after health care reform was passed, but the national debt was rising. That is the one thing this administration has been prolific at, record government spending and government growth.
No Barry, no asteroids falling from the sky, but there IS oil coming up from hell. No birds chirping - they're all dead, no one strolling down the mall - in this case, beaches.
"I, me, my" -- Obama's three favorite words.

GretchenDawntreader 1 year ago
@GretchenDawntreader Obama wants to increase taxes on those who make more than $250,000. That will include MILLIONS of Americans who pay taxes using the individual tax form. Therefore, Obama IS burdening job creators. That's not rocket science.
Small businesses employ half of all U.S. workers. Do you want more jobs? Don't increase taxes. Evidence: google "sba" and "frequently asked questions."
ensignbay 1 year ago
@ensignbay You don't even understand the proposals. Let's say the tax cuts are maintained for income 250k and under and not for over 250k. Let's say your "job producer" who treats his business as personal income (what corporation actually does this?) and this person makes 300k. That person will pay 3 or 4 percent more on 50k, and maintain his tax break on the first 250k. That person is going to pay $1,500 more in taxes.
How many jobs would that person produce with $1,500? CRISIS!
GretchenDawntreader 1 year ago
@GretchenDawntreader You're an economic illiterate. Tax increases don't incentivise job creators to take risks to grow. Taxes are already high. You raise them again & it's another nail in the coffin of growth. Add to that the massive new costly Obamacare regulations, & companies have no incentive to take risks.
Trickle down worked. Reagan dropped unemployment 7.62% to 5.49% & inflation from 10.35% to 4.08%. Reagan had the economy growing at 5-8% at this time in presidency. O's econ is stagnate.
ensignbay 1 year ago
@ensignbay you know what incentivises job creators to take risks? Profit. The increase would put it at the level it was under Clinton, when we had RECORD job growth.
You know what creates the profit that incentivises job creators to create jobs? Lower and middle class workers who have more money.
Note that Obama took office in emergency mode to recover from a pre-existing crisis! Comparing 2 years of this broken economy and blaming it on Obama is what is truly illiterate.
GretchenDawntreader 1 year ago
@GretchenDawntreader Gretchen, gretchen. Reagan dropped the top marginal tax rate from 70%. AND he decreased the size and scope of government and regulaton. Therefore, businesses were getting to keep more of their profits. Clinton raised taxes in a booming economy when businesses could absorb the hit. You can increase businesses' burden during a recession. Obama is doing both.
Go to miseryindex dot us and see how much Reagan improved the economy.
ensignbay 1 year ago
@ensignbay I don't care about what it was before Reagan. You said how great things were during Reagan and his taxes were much higher than either proposal currently being worked on, which you seem to think will CRUSH the economy and suppress job creation. Oddly, taxes 10% higher did not under Reagan. And you explain away success under Clinton without crediting him at all.
You probably don't know that everyone in the US got a tax break in the 2nd stimulus. Doesn't fit your opinions.
GretchenDawntreader 1 year ago
@GretchenDawntreader The misery index is the inflation rate and unemployment rates combined. These are not abstract figures. I've compiled some comparisons of the Reagan and Obama economies. Go to festivaloffacts dot blogspot dot com
I thought the stimulus "cuts" were tax credits. It's income tax rate cuts that make a difference. And if you want more job creation, make it easier to be successful by lowering tax rates and cutting costly regulations.
ensignbay 1 year ago
@ensignbay paying less taxes is paying less taxes. Folks like you just don't want to give Obama credit for anything, ever. Which is why debating things with you is such a waste of my time.
Also, chart on Rachel Maddow last night shows that during Reagan, the rich got massively richer while the incomes of the rest of us was flat. search for "Rachel Maddow- GOP tax bonus for rich ignores failure of Reaganomics" and ya know, she doesn't make this stuff up.
Trickle down is crap.
GretchenDawntreader 1 year ago
@GretchenDawntreader The rate of inflation is very real. Deflation and inflation directly effect every dollar in your hand and the value of anything you own. And the unemployment rate is a real figure.
And I make WELL under $40k/year. I just see that I want those who create jobs to create MORE jobs. When times the economy is strong & taxes are raised, it's doesn't do good, but it doesn't hurt as much. When the econ is weak, taking MORE money from job creators HURTS.
ensignbay 1 year ago
@ensignbay paying a little more taxes to someone who is very rich means almost nothing. Corporations who create real jobs (not one or two) are...incorporated, and do not function on one person's bank account or tax rate, but on corporate finance and taxes, and corporations routinely find ways to pay almost no tax.
You can ask me over and over to pity the plight of the rich, for whom everything has been tilted their direction for decades, and if you aren't one of them, then I'm done with you.
GretchenDawntreader 1 year ago
@GretchenDawntreader You are spewing your opinion -- and it is unfounded. Uncertainty in the marketplace and marginal tax rates effect how and when people invest in business.
You are thinking as an envious, greedy liberal instead of a business-owner or economist.
ensignbay 1 year ago
@ensignbay I could combine job offshoring vs skirt length, and those would not be abstract figures either, but would not say much meaningful about the economy either when combined to produce some "index." You pick two things that support a certain view, and whoa, significance!
As a blogger with incentive to put up a wall of charts supporting making the rich richer as the solution to all things, I don't doubt you yourself benefit from these gifts for the rich, which means you are just greedy.
GretchenDawntreader 1 year ago
@ensignbay also, I recently heard it reported that the Fed was worried that inflation was too low. So we have really low inflation and high unemployment, and a misery index around 10ish. (I'm not on the page anymore.) I scrolled through the monthly graph, and aside from peaks under Ford and Carter in '75 and '80, the current years seem relatively steady and non-alarming. It's also a made up artifice, kind of like credit default swaps and fake AAA bond ratings.
GretchenDawntreader 1 year ago
@ensignbay also, you might want to wiki "Taxation in the United States" where even an economic genius like you could read that any increas on income over 250k would be from 35% to 39.6%. During the presidency of your idol Ronald Reagan, that top rate was 50%. Clearly, if we want the best of times as they were under Reagan, we should really hike tax rates far more.
I'm sure you will find some way to turn this simple statement of historical facts into some sort of liberal plot on my part.
GretchenDawntreader 1 year ago
@ensignbay also, aside from the details of the proposal, renewing my initial point, that it is indefensible for the GOP to block everything from unemployment benefits to START to tax relief for the middle class unless they get this bonus gift pack for the very rich. Noting once more, even the rich benefit from the 250k tax break, while the 250+ break only benefits the rich. Except for whatever you say will trickle down on the rest of us, and we saw how well that worked...the rich got richer.
GretchenDawntreader 1 year ago

Obamar is a narcissist. Of course he cannot help himself, after all, people adore him, they faint when he walks into the room, they chant his name over and over, he's been called the Messiah by Louis Farakhan .
And of course it's all Bush's fault !
