the word 'naadan' means 'naive'  this song is sung for 2 individuals, one of them being her naive heart and the other is her worldly persona. her duty and heart are torn. there is no singular......so she states.... ' we are lost ' ' why are we lost ' in this deserted wilderness.............

This is the most fav song of even Lata ji. Once in an interview she said that after singing and recording this song, she remained depressed for days and days. This is how great singers sing..they drown themselves in the emotion of the poetry and sing from deep within/from soul...thats why this song has so much of impact. I literally get goose bumps every time I listen to this.
