  • I know it's an officer frame but will it fit regular govt frame grips?

  • @khyoon14 Nope.

  • Thanks for the hands on. Just picked up a C3 today for my new carry gun. I'm used to carrying a full 5 inch gun on me, now I gotta get used to a lighter smaller 1911 on me from now on. Thanks for the review.

  • @kmiracle1984 Well, don't worry about this... you will get used to it very easily. And since it's a SIG - you will find you wont give up anything on Accuracy.

  • I love my RCS. Agree with your review...of course.

  • Ogre you look like a badass ogre.

  • @perspicacity89 Thanks. You can't have my Bud Light.

  • @MadOgre Hahahaha! :)

  • @MadOgre Hahahaha! :)

  • I have seen a couple of your videos. After 27 years of training SOF for tact - what is not called CSAT the first thing that comes to mind is how incredibly sloppy you are with your weapon. Maybe if you get pissed at me you can save yourself from an accident. Nice gun. Thanks.

  • @QuesoChino Let's see your videos holding a camera in one hand and presenting the gun in the other. But I appreciate your random anonymous criticism... because I always take them to heart.

  • I just ordered this gun today. Enjoyed your review. Has it been an accurate and reliable gun for you?

  • Dangley pinky.

  • Very nice gun Charlie Wax

  • You look very intimidating (That's a compliment)

  • @TheAKOmnicide I'm a warm and fuzzy Ogre.... Harmless.

    Mostly Harmless.

  • you forgot to do the one thing you should have with this unique gun - show us what a normal 7rd mag looks like inside the shorter grip!!! argh. the mag is sitting RIGHT THERE just half an inch away from the magwell, and yet...... no show. :(

  • "Colt is managed by a bunch of idiots" BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Hey OGRE just wanted to drop a line and let you know i went with the wicked black 1911 RCS....the gun is AWESOME just like ya said, thanks very much. Now i need to find a holster...lol... any ideas ?

  • very nice video

  • @iLove12GaugeSlugs Yes, you can.

  • Ogre, what do think about the Sig Sauer 1911 RCS ????

  • @VECCMV To be honest, I kinda wish I had gotten the RCS instead... It's the same gun, but nice and wicked black, with a carry bevel package that removes all the sharp corners and edges. It's better suited to CCW carry than the C3.

  • @MadOgre I know what you mean, its definately my next purchase. Thing is as much as i like the Nitron i hear from people that if im gonna carry and holster it alot that the Nitron will start to wear. So im guessing the 2 tone is a better choice with the stainless slide. I know your around guns alot, what is your take on it ?

  • @VECCMV Holster Wear just shows it's not a Safe Queen and that you actually carry it. Guys who have guns that look like they never take the gun out of the box... Less impressive.

  • @MadOgre OK, SO THE ALL BLACK NITRON IS THE WAY TO GO THEN? WHILE I HAVE YOUR EAR, I WAS ALSO CHECKING OUT THE P220 CARRY SAS GEN 2, BETWEEN THAT AND THE 1911 RCS WHAT WOULD YOU SAY?

  • @VECCMV The RCS will carry much better and will be a bit more accurate.

  • @MadOgre Thanks very much for all your input, appreciate it very much.

  • 4 managers from colt watched this video.

  • @MUSICALGUNNUT45 I hope they took notes.

  • @MadOgre Well they reintroduced the mustang 380 line this year hopefully it will be the first of many old models they bring back I think they might finally be figuring out that sig is making more money off there designs then they are : )

  • Thanks for the vid I've never seen that pistol

  • a sig made 911 what more can a man want

  • Looks like a really nice gun. Sig has done it again.

    Good video.

    Too much background noise (wind)

  • I want my pistol permit. Too bad I live in goddamn Erie County, New York.

  • i know it will be different in canada but im sure not by much, price tag anyone? im looking to buy a pistol when i turn 18 and get my restricted and i love the 1911 but im not sure WHAT kind of 1911 to get

  • @AcAinslie You should be able to get one just under $1000, I bought my Sig RCS for 1069 and it is basically the same gun with different grips and finish

  • I really like that pistol

  • he reminds me of Julian from TPBs but with shaved head and different color gotee lol

  • I thought my hands were big! Yeah, i'm sold. I've been wrestling for months about what 1911 to start off with. I watched another review and you guys got me. I'm buying one.

  • How do you feel about SIG making a 1911 styled gun except the frame is just a slim P226 grip? In essance a 1911 with sig controls minus.

  • @Wabaanimkii I would question the value of it. Benefit could be a lower bore axis, which would be a big plus.

  • @Wabaanimkii They make a P220 SAO, just very hard to find.

  • @PaleHorseWC2 I feel uneasy with SAO weapons. I prefer DA/SA because I carry IWB at about 11o'clock. And having a gun with a nice 3.5 trigger pointing at my dingus would make me hesitant to walk.

  • @Wabaanimkii I don't get it, so what are you asking for in this pistol, if I recall you wanted "a 1911 styled gun except the frame is just a slim P226 grip? In essence a 1911 with SIG controls minus" For a gun that looks like a 1911 but has a double action look into the Para LDAs or the infamous Double Eagle, or a P220 sorta.

  • Comment removed

  • @Wabaanimkii what gun is this? sounds cool but your not just talking about the p220 super match are you?

  • God this is a nice looking gun.

  • best looking 1911 IMO

  • commander sized slide officer sized frame = WIN

  • so how has the c3 been treating you so far. im in the market to get a 1911 for ccw and cant decide between this or the springfield emp9.

  • For 1911 guys who love the gun, this is the gun for you, i myself dont like 1911's yes they are some beautiful guns! cannot deny it that, i jus prefer to carry my glock 19 for edc and my glock 23 for home defence, i prefer personally more rounds because more rounds is more options and less reloads if need be, thats just my reasonings, your mileage may vary, anyway sexy gun nice to the point review, thank you :)

  • Is this gsr model any thicker than a standard 1911.

  • @Kopis1911 No.

  • WOW! Beautiful gun.

  • I bought the Metro Arms "AMERICAN CLASSIC".............M1911A1 $400 /made in the Phillipines. The Fit,finish and reliability are OUTSTANDING.

Still in the break in period but put 100 rounds through it at the range and had no malfunctions ,NONE! Shoots great to point of aim............I SLEPT with one of the COLT M1911's in the Army and I always wanted one. I believe I have one of the best. The KIMBER boys were at the Range and they were IMPRESSED with this weapon!

  • Nice gun but that is not anywhere close to being the perfect CC handgun.

  • @Qasarean Well, we don't have concealable Javelin launchers... so I will have to agree with you.

  • im so stoked! i can hardly contain myself! the first day into a 96 hour shift- my ffl calls me saying my blackwater sig 1911 is in! im tempted to go home "sick!"

  • How do the S&W 1911's compare to the SIG's? I'm looking at the SIG 1911 RCS Nitron and the S&W 1911 compact ES. They both have the officer frame in alloy (Scandium for the S&W) and commander size slide in steel i think. Let me know which one you think would be the better buy.

  • what kind of money did you have to spend for that beautiful 1911? if you dont mind me asking?

  • @JAG6363 My cost was about 600 bucks.

  • @MadOgre that sounds real cheap, up here in NY a gunshop tried selling me a used taurus 1911 for 700. I think id much rather have the sig lol

  • @JAG6363 You're not cheap. I wouldn't have bought it either. I got PT1911, stainless steel, brand new for that much. That guy was trying to rip you off...and if it wasn't stainless steel then he was REALLY trying to rip you off!

  • @palerider1775 ahahah no it was the blued one with the tactical rail and it was used lol

  • You hit it right on the fucking head with Colt. I mean they stopped the Detective Special, brought it back, stopped it again. (Detective Special isn't my dream gun but it's still a classic. They stopped making their WWI replica. Gimme a fucking break. Well less money for them.

  • I want to get the GSR in full size SS I can taste it.

  • I took my new C3 to the range today and MAN!!... the accuracy is fantastic!!

I put Hogue finger groove grips on and I LOVE this pistol!!

    Thanks for your video MadOgre!!!

  • this looks like a very promising 1911. I would love to get one of these to the range one day.

  • Any plans to hit this with a permanent SlipStream treatment in the near future?

  • Absolutely.

  • thats very impressive accuracy on the next video. i was lookn at a kimber too by the way, but i may have to take a closer look at the sig here. looks pretty too

  • do sig 1911's require a special holster or do they fit in normal 1911 holsters

  • beautiful gun! Amazing. I wouldn't mind owning one of those badboys

  • novaks were off so i took it to the gunsmith, shoots much better now, will see. I am shooting my 3/4 reloads and it just eats them up. give it up for sig, my kimbers are just like all others, picky as shit about ammo, but sig is strong on reloeads.

  • i agree its a great gun since i own it, but please don't say its as accurate as a kimber. i have pro carry and an ultra carry, and a raptor II. it may be more accurate than the ultra carry by a bit, but the pro carry 4 inch barrel puts the sig away hands down, both the ultra and the pro are WAY easier to conceal and Weight MUCH less. no need to comment about the raptor, I dont think any 1911 beats it, not even my friends les baer which is much more expensive. i still love my sig 239, and 229

  • My C3 outshoots my Kimber Tactical Pro II, Tactical Custom II, and Custom II. It smokes them.

  • i will have to take it to the gunsmith i guess.

  • absolutly fantastic 1911. but what would you expect from sig?

on a side note is that a marpart gortex top you are wearing?

  • US Marine issue. I know I was Army, but the Marines Camo is better, so I wear it. That and it's rain proof. Under that I wear a Black Diamond fleece zip up that zips into the shell... it's superior to the original liner which was useless for Utah weather.

From SIG, I expect The Best. Which is what I got. My side arms are SIG, as are my main go to rifles. I just wish SIG made a Pump Action 12 gauge.

  • thought i recognized the gortex.

ive always been more biased toward kimber and colt until my buddy got a GSR.

anyways like you said sig didn't try to reinvent the 1911. they did it and did it exceptionally well.

  • My buddy has the same gun, its a great shooting pistol.

  • in this video, you say that you do not like having a full length guide rod. Why is that? I've heard that full length is better. But i don't know the pro's and con's of having a full length and not full length. I'm a newb to guns so I'm curious.

  • I prefer the simplicity of the Original Design that doesn't use a Full Length Guide Rod. Simple as that... Personal Preference. I also like Butter Pecan and Pralines and Cream ice cream... no reason. Just Preference. These things could all be argued till the end of time.

  • not cheap at all though :)

    nothin fancy:) pretty fancy price

but its a sig and its a 1911, wut can u expect :)

  • The worst thing about carrying a 1911 is its weight. It's a big chunk of steel. The second thing is the barrel length--both things are easily mitigated by a good holster and belt. Despite those issues, for me, they're better than a mile wide Glock.

I have a feeling this SIG C3 is heck of a value packed carry pistol. I just fondled one tonight, and it's now at the top of my short list.

One thing ogre didn't touch on: this SIG is aluminum framed. 10 ounces lighter than a standard all steel 1911.

  • wow, that color combination is great looking. from a distance it looks kinda like the Kimber Pro CDP II. Nice gun!

  • Looks a great deal like a CDP, this one just has a longer barrel. Grips exchange easily.

  • I agree! Stainless slide, controls, etc, blued frame and dark rich wood grips make CSR's and CDP's the most gorgeous looking pistols around, honestly.

  • Are you kidding? The 1911 is nice and slim... They conceal very well... Especially the Officer's size, which is shorter in barrel and shorter in grip. The C3 has the Officer's grip and the Commander's barrel. Which means it's a concealable pistol that gives up only 1 round of capacity.... That's the only sacrifice for concealment. The power is there... and as evidenced by the illustrated shot group - the accuracy is there.

SIG makes some of the best 1911's out there.

  • i think it's just the weight that some people find objectionable. i personally prefer the heft of an all steel 1911, but polymers do have the weight advantage for all day carry. great review. i'd like to get a sig 1911 one of these days.

  • I highly endorse any of these 1911s for EDC. Shot about 500 rounds through mine over the last week in concealed holster training. No malfunctions, feeding issues, etc. The trigger is amazing on this little baby.

It's weight and round capacity is comparable to the Sig P239 (which sees plenty carry as it is). It disappears in a second; even when just wearing a t-shirt, and if you're concerned about ammo capacity you could carry 1-2 10 rounder 1911 magazines on you- Wilson Combat is a good brand.

  • Hey Ogre,

First I'd like to compliment you on your purchase.

I really love the Sig 1911 series, enough so that I managed to convince myself into buying one at a recent gun show (the RCS). This is my first time with a 1911 pistol and was just wondering if have you experienced any failure to feeds with yours? I've lubed up the gun pretty well, but still get one or two every 100-200 rounds that pass through it. Any advice from your front sir?

  • Lube it with a good quality lube like Tetra Gun Oil, or Mpro7, Hoppes Elite... something super slick. Then shoot the hell out of it. SIG says these need to wear in. And I found that to be true. I've had a few failure to feed, but the more I shoot, the less I have them. It's wearing in nicely...

Now one thing that i've also noticed is that I've not had a single problem with 185 and 200 grain bullets. It's the 230 grain loads that give the occasional failure to feed.

  • Oh, and thanks on the advice Ogre. To anyone out there experiencing my previous problems, don't skimp out by using low quality gun oils. You just bought a 900-1,000 dollar gun, treat it like one.

  • do you know how to put this damn thing back 2gather lol i took it a part like a dumass lol and now i cant get it back its not like my springfield 45

  • I'll have to make a video - but yeah, if you have a Springfield 1911, it's just like that.

Just make sure you don't push the grip safety when you are putting the slide on. If you do, a lever just in front of the hammer will come up and block the slide. If you put the side on upside down... grip facing down... that lever can fall into a positon to block as well.

  • FBMG, Inc in Draper is where I got it. It's a rain jacket and some of them come with a nice warm insulated liner... I use a fleece zip up from Black Diamond that zips in just like the liner and it's much warmer. Has a hood. Has zippered vents if it gets too warm. I love it.

  • sweet gun. nice and simple. no distracting or complicated frills. if i wasnt in love with my kimber grand raptor (i like a few artistic frills if they dont get in my way), this would likely be the 1911 for me.

really likin your vids, ogre. concise and precise.

i just wish it had a pistol bayonet.
