I'm parked on a very steep driveway, so they look like they're higher than they really are. On the road, the work great. It's flat on the driving surface, but angle up to the side of the road so you can see the off-side of the road better.
are you saying that before you had the capacitor, your bi-xenon kit was switching up and down every second? that's how mine was. Is the capacitor the answer to that problem?
You mean physically moving? No. I only had the low beam kit.
The flickering then shutting off has something to do with the Mustang's "smart" system. The current draw on HIDs are lower than halogen, so the PCM thinks something is wrong.
Somehow, the inline capacitor tricked the PCM into thinking all was fine.
Nice setup, but I really don't like that color range. 6000-7000 is the way to go, if you want visibility. Plus, in many areas, that color is simply cop bait.
I had just gotten them working right. It was before I aimed them. It was impossible to aim them on my sloped driveway. I had to park on the street and aim them that way.
The headlights were from Ebay. Do a search for 05-07 Mustang projectors and you'll find a ton. Mine have a unique cutoff, which obviously is not that popular with some of the people here. I like them, though.
The HID kit came from lighting623 on Ebay, the best seller to get the kits from. Make sure you request a capacitor harness with them, as the newer Mustangs have a "smart" feature which kills the circuit, since it thinks the lower amperage means the bulbs are burnt out.

i work with bosch, hella, and valeo and all the shields are fixed you have to actually remove the fresnel or the zkw's to get to them or color mod them.
Umm, these are projector bulbs. The cutoff is built INSIDE the projector. You can't just "take them out". The cutoffs work perfectly. The light up the road w/o blinding other drivers. What you propose would be completely irresponsible....
actually yes u can, I have twin halo projector headlamps, I took out my cut offs. its bolted in there you can get them out. and I'm telling you. u dont have to beleave me. but its alot better an safer with them off. you can actually see the rd far better. right now u have half a bmw headlamp lol with cut offs without u see how bmws see.
well, if you adjust the Cutt offs which you should be able todo from two screws. you would thank me. and enjoy the rd just that much more. you arent getting what you paid for at all lol.
cutoff shields are for safety of the other drivers so you don't blind them. if you want to see further down the road just aim your headlights a little higher.(not the housing but the projectors themselves) if you can't aim them higher then you just got what you paid for on ebay buddy.
hey dumbshit you are talking about adjusting the shields. Why go into so much trouble opening the headlights and projector to move the shield when you can just aim the headlights?
Are those projecters there not aimed corretly

oh, you are not using the high/low beam kit?
atasteofchaosII 2 years ago
Nope. Just the low beam kit, with some high-quality xenon halogens for the high beams.

what headlights do you have? The beam doesn't look like it's from HID projectors but you don't really have any glare.

Glad you like them.

For crying out loud guys, calm the hell down. We're talking about HIDs... not politics.
After this video was shot, I adjusted both headlights to where they're supposed to be. Took me two minutes...

They work fine for me. The road looks great and I NEVER get flashed by other drivers. No reason to mess with it.
At any rate, I'm too busy trying to finish my engine swap to mess with the HIDs....
