  • At 5:26 Eirin's theme returns!

    7:13 is actually Ran's theme, not Yukari's.

  • @DaughterOfWhite 7:13 that's the main melody of both themes, picking one is only a matter of judging which theme in sound is most similar to that of my remix. I might have said Necrofantasia because it was shorter and more economical to type than "ZUN - A Maiden's Illusionary Funeral ~ Necro-Fantasy" :P. Plus YouTube video descriptions are limited in terms of characters entered, so I'll say I played it safe. I could also have entered both names with a forward slash in between.

  • @DaughterOfWhite At 5:26 I'm considering Eirin's theme already returned as of 3:09 (that's why purple, the text font color of Imperishable Night, is being kept and used to annotate for following songs of games other than IN (which would have had their respective color, example : red for U.N. Owen was her? From EoSD).

Starting from 3:18, songs that came in only overlapped with Eirin's theme from 3:09, that's why you can keed in mind that at 5:26 Eirin's theme is being insinuated.

  • 1:05 is bad apple

  • @charzardkirby10 True, I forgot to write it in the playlist. Thank you!

  • @charzardkirby10 Wait, actually no... it was already spotted, sorry.

It begins at 0:53, and it's written in the playlist too... as well as annotated in the video of course, until I make up for something better and more presentable, with images and stuff :P.

  • *Link to the original upload from the original maker of the medley: nico dot jp/watch/sm3233821

  • 3:49, another bunch of "japjap japjap, japjapjap" 34 characters, jeez.

I'll double check the source where I took the list of the touhou games the used songs had been seen in... and ask if there really isn't any StB songs.

  • At 1:18, an annotation in the japanese video, written in bigger characters but with the conventionnal blue of the entries, a four characters title, it reads vaguely " î something-looking-like-house-roof-on-top-of-a-spinal-chord < t'= " (and it's not a StB song).

At 2:57, there is a 29 characters line that looks pretty random, it's punctuated by 2 comma looking dots (symbols for degree).

3:18, definitely something there, oh, it's Welcome to the Moon Tour (ZUNCD5 Magical Astronomy..

  • @devouringone3 For the 1:18 one i think it could be the Mystic Square stage 2 song: 夢想時空 (Dimension of Reverie)

  • @WTFdrugs Sorry, the third character has to be a open "<" less than sign. And there really is some kind of "î" at the beginning.

  • @devouringone3 I checked all the songs in the list in the first video, and when I looked for something like that, I couldn't find anything.

  • At 4:49, U.N. Owen Was Her? actually starts there. Its really hidden by all the sounds going on, but I'm really sure its there. And at 7:24, You can also hear Kanako's theme there.

  • @WTFdrugs Oh, I think I can hear it too, at 4:49... all muttered and weak but there, yeah.

I can hear what notes you are refering to at 7:24. Strangely this repeated riff is made out of 7 accentued notes you can hear well while Kanako's theme has 8 of them. One of the beats was either muted or else it isn't Kanako's song here. Personally I don't think the two sound the same.

Strangely in the Nicovideo there is no annotation narrated at that moment in the video (and the notes are there).

  • Everything is annotated in blue in that video, (nico: /watch/sm3233821) the problem lies in reading and decoding the japanese characters only names... or finding which song it refers to. I've already written here the names with a romanji part like "幽夢 ~ Inanimate Dream" (Faint Dream).

  • Year of listening to Touhou music has paid off. I can confirm that 0:37 to 0:49 is Faint Dream ~ Inanimate Dream, but 0:50 to 0:55 sounds like Kid's Festival ~ Innocent Treasures and i can't find it in Faint Dream.

  • @BeyPokeDig You're certainly right on your "Faint Dream - Inanimate Dream", even though I am not quite hearing it, it was still certified by the original nico video where an annotation stating the name of the song pops in at that 0:37 moment (hadn't noticed that before, sorry if you've spent a lot of time seeking for it "manually").

Also, I think I see what "Kid's Festival ~ Innocent Treasure" you're talking about, it sounds a bit like it... but the resemblance is weak..

  • And something is between 2:57 - 3:03 (that was an old alert from BeyPokeDig2, if you guys can pay attention to it because there is definitely something, I can confirm it with the japanese characters annotation popping at that moment in the original nico video of that song)

  • OK, very strange thing I'm hearing... The Maid and the Pocket Watch of Blood during 5:48 - 5:53, most obvious at 5:51 with the xylophone. Wow, all these songs and we still don't have the StB one...

  • On top of that, 0:38 - 0:55 sounds suspiciously like Faint Dream ~ Inanimate Dream, Yuka's Final Stage theme in Lotus land Story. Is it me or is there a lot of LLS?

  • @dogAddicted Hum, if you are refering to the silent bass strums we can hear at the beginning of the song and sometimes after the main refrain, then I think you are mistaken, because even though it is sound very similar (both instruments play it pretty low in tonality), it isn't the same thing/notes being played... But I do get that bassline at 0:38-0:55 you're questionning, I don't think it's part of the cirno theme's musical sheet either.

  • @devouringone3 Um, I was talking about the instrument that started playing at 0:38, the xylophone type thing. In the original video, it was blue-greenish, and around the same level as the orange (Piano) bars.

  • 2:57 - 3:03 sounds like Yuka's stage 5 theme in Lotus Land Story, Sleeping Terror, because it sounds too much like it.

  • @dogAddicted Yes, I think I've found the part in Sleeping Terror you're talking about, it is very recognizable even though it is just a background jingle in the medley.

  • The file is temporarily unavailabe, so I can't download it.

    Tha't unfortunate for me.

  • Mega Upload

Filename: East Suite - Touhou MIDI Medley ..zip

File description: Here is the mp3 song used for the YouTube video (with playlist in .txt).

    File size: 22.07 MB

I just downloaded it, what are you trying to download exactly? The link in my video description is still functionnal, try again ;)

  • @masterofall66

Oh you said "temporarily unavailable".. sorry, *I should be working now.

  • It sounds sort of like The Venerable Ancient Battlefield ~ Suwa Foughten Field started around 7:25 as video game noises (sort of) during Necrofantasia, and ended right before it start to sound different, somewhat like the first Border of Life. Also, I think something else is in the Grimoire of Alice from 2:57 to 3:02, right after Shanghai Alice of Meiji 17 ends and before Luna Dial comes in again.

  • Hum, there sure are a few notes between 2:57-2:59 and 3:00-3:02 that stand out... we need to investigate!

Yes I also hear those 7 short notes (noise thing) playing in a Venerable Ancient Battlefield sort of way... but I can't link those too much with the real song when I alternate and see between the two.

You don't look too sure either, but it is some nice stuff you've just pointed out man.

  • 4:50

That is unmistakably an element of Bloom Nobly, Cherry Blossoms of Sumizome ~ Border of Life.

  • Yes, you're totally right.

    Thanks

  • / 3:49, there is definitely something.

  • @devouringone3 Well, it sounds a bit like Native faith at the end, so we'll only need to look for soundtracks that have those exact notes at some point. So far, all I could find was Celestial Wizardry ~ Magical Astronomy, but it's not exact. Just very close. If it isn't Magical Astronomy, then I shall keep looking.

  • @devouringone3 Now I'm certain that it's Megalopolis of Moon, not the soundtrack Magical Astronomy, and this time I practically know this.

  • @dogAddicted Not the soundtrack Magical Astronomy? I don't think I already knew about such a "Megalopolis of Moon" song. I will give you credits but I am curious to hear the song you're talking me about. On YouTube the results lead us to "Welcome to the Moon Tour" the first song of the Magical Astronomy CD.

  • @devouringone3 The song's link is this:

    /watch?v=-huvH6ztF1I

And the Japanese name is 月面ツアーへようこそ, so yeah, I guess it would be Welcome to the Moon Tour.

  • Comment removed

  • @dogAddicted It is written "Comment removed" here but... I can read your comment in my inbox... sorry the *dogAddicted stands for "I don't really approve or take the time to hard listen and find it myself..." Like if I just, trusted you ;).

  • Oh wait, what?

  • @devouringone3 I said that I thought I said that Welcome to the Moon Tour was during History of the Moon at 3:49, not Beloved Tomboyish Daughter. I didn't even mean to remove it and YouTube took out the "Restore Comment" option.

  • Okay I understand.

I can definitely hear something suspecting at 3:49.

YES, I FOUND IT... ACTUALLY, OMG... Y O U ! Found it... what a, little punk-genius man! Yeah! So Cool! Cooler than me! (lol)

  • I just watched the Nicovideo videos. There should be Strawberry Crisis and Dream Battle somewhere, i will check later where. And i lol'd hard at "Pad Apple!!", especially after i found that there are more videos with that tag. And when i googled it, i got "Welcome to Apple's Pad - Macworld UK". INSTAROFL

  • Lol, Pad Apple.

You found it in other nicovideos? lol maybe it is some sort of japanese inside joke.

We still need to find a Magical Astronomy exclusive song, necrofantasia and demystify feast won't do... otherwise Chinese Tea would have brought Changeability of Dream to the list of games. (Yes I actually just realized that. lol.. took me a while)

  • Where did you get those? Strawberry Crisis and Dream Battre?

  • Reimu's Dream Battle? I think it's during The Venerable Ancient Battlefield ~ Suwa Foughten Field, but I might be wrong.

  • Yeah, it should be during Suwa Foughten Field if i remember correctly, but i don't have enough time to continue discovering hidden music ATM :((( Maybe next week.

  • @BeyPokeDig2 Be careful though with Venerable Ancient Battlefield, I deleted the second half of it that was incomplete in my original version. In its stead I affixed a duplicate of the first half, making that Dream Battle background I can't hear incoherent.

  • @dogAddicted Okay, right now I just am totally hearing it... I'll give you credit on it, thanks!

  • OH WOW O____O

    5:45

    Do you hear anything?

    Now?

    Still nothing?

And when i tell you "Centennial Festival for Magical Girls" ?

Well hidden! It's really obvious now that i know about it. What is heard cannot be unheard? :D

Also 3:52 - 4:02 is something that i don't think is from Gensokyo Millenium. I love how i have to listen to every note in every music to make sure it has/hasn't that part. ZUN is -genius- THE STRONGEST.

    And something is between 2:57 - 3:03

  • "What is heard cannot be unheard?"

It did that for me with Kagome-Kagome :P.

    Man that's another tripple case!

So yeah, if you're refering to the first piano notes we hear in the original song, then yeah, I think I can hear them too. It',s hard, there is so much stuff going on there.

Don't forget the guy named Raytona, he's the one who fused and remixed it all... even though ZUN is hard to overlook... he's pretty much a piece of something too.

  • I should start putting my videos in high quality...

  • @BeyPokeDig2 3:52 - 4:02 was Welcome to the Moon Tour.

    We need to find 2:57 - 3:03.

  • @devouringone3 I thought dogAddicted found it 6 months ago and it's Yuka's theme?

By the way, WOW IT'S BEEN 11 MONTHS ALREADY? Identifying this is still on my to-do list XD i will listen to this medley again tomorrow, unlike 11 months ago i should be able to identify absolutely everything from Touhou 1-12.8, fake Touhou 13 and almost all albums + Uwabami breakers. Maybe a little Seihou too, but only the more known pieces.

  • @BeyPokeDig @BeyPokeDig I don't think there is much left to be uncovered.

What about the Music CD accompanying the Touhou books? :P and the music found on Zun's website, hehe. Those last two aren't as good as most of ZUN's video games music.

Oh, damn... yeah, it was dogAddicted who first pointed it out, but I abruptly disagreed and did nothing about it. Now that I have the evidence (and it's not coming from my ears) I'll give him credits too. Poor guy, I'm sorry dogAddicted.

  • You know what? THERE IS NO ???4

0:00 - 0:22 is only one theme, Gensokyo, Past and Present

I was so sure it's something from StB DX

  • Btw looks like that's what EBA already said XD.

    Hiroari Shoots a strange bird: 2:21 - 2:27

    Shanghai Alice of Meiji 17: 2:27 - 2:33 and 2:55 - 2:57 (instead of Hiroari)

The Maid and the Pocket Watch of Blood: 3:04 - 3:08

  • 5:14 - 5:27 Septette for Dead Princess

That mysterious ???8 sounds like The Primal Scene of Japan the Girl Watched, but it's slightly different...

  • AHA! I FOUND YOU!

???8 is Cemetery of Onbashira ~ Grave of Being!

    Phew! ^_^

  • Aaaand that's all! I can't find anything else. I heard Kagome Kagome the first time i listened to this, but dogAddicted reported it before i finished the first video :D he found the beginning sooner, though.

  • If there are TH 3 or 9.5 songs, i can't find them. Necrofantasia and Demystify Feast are listed in Magical Astronomy. Sleepless Night of the Eastern Country too, so if there is 9.5 music, it's probably either that or Wind God Girl (from 9 and 9.5) I will listen to TH3 songs just to be sure, but i don't hear anything unidentified now...

  • So, getting back on your conclusions... no StB or Phantasmagoria of Dim.Dream... or at least, not as long as we don't find any other suspicious tracking.

Ok, I will get use to Akyu's Untouched Score Vol.4's sound and I will try myself a little bit, but right now I'll go do some homework, sorry can't help you, but thanks for what you did already, I appreciate.

  • Oh shit, nvm about that song at 5:27, that's just Gensokyo Millennium finishing itself.

  • Wow, this was a difficult one, even though I am now convinced (after 15 listenings/comparison) that it is it, I still find that the two doesn't sound alike.

  • 5:26 - 5:39 ... there is something overlapping with U.N. Owen was her?, and it presented in front of it... pay attention you might find it before me.

  • That's still Gensokyo Millenium. It stops at 5:14 and starts at 5:26 again.

  • qefd fsdg

  • Fuck why can't I reply to that [test].

  • Ok... youtube glitch, this comment of his never appeared in my list of this video's comments.

  • Those are very subtle (@BeyPokeDig2 about EBA's)... I really don't see any traces (other than maybe what, one or two notes?) of Shanghai Alice of Meiji 17 at 2:55... and I personally hear at 3:03 - 3:07 Lunar Clock ~ Lunar Dial (as a little jingle, nothing more than Lunatic Princess on Plain Asia, just a jingle), more than The Maid and the Pocket Watch of Blood.

I will need the 100% confirmation of someone like you, I feel like I am deafening at the moment.

  • Oops, i'm idiot. First, i didn't mean 2:55, i meant 2:52 - 2:57. If you listen to it from when Hiroari starts, you will hear it.

Second, yes, i meant Lunar Clock, not Pocket Watch -.- *marries Cirno*

  • Okay, now you're talking, at 2:52 we can clearly hear it!

Jeez I have edited the video description about 25 times so far... you think I can swap the video but keep the commentaries and stuff? I would redo the video on windows movie maker... now that I am so proud of how you guys helped me on the playlist, I would to a better video with images and videos. Maybe make a stepmania simfile out of the song... I am starting to have ideas.

  • Yeah, you could remake it so that every currently playing song would be visible. Instead of "/" you could use 3 rows: "Main theme" "Secondary theme" "Tertiary theme"

You could also give credits to me, EBA, dogAddicted and Fr34k4zO1d ;)

But make sure you give credits to correct people - you currently have EBA as the one who discovered 2:22 and 2:27 :P (probably because i said that he discovered that Gensokyo Past and Present thing in same comment) (btw you responded to that EBA's comment 0_0)

  • Yes, because there are moments where three songs are overlapping together.

Wait, we both agree that EBA only put one comment here, right? Then those 2:22 and 2:27 are yours...

And you are right, I just fixed 2:52 and 3:03. I feel so clumsy... you finding errors and mismatch in my playlist job. lol :/

  • OH, NOW I UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU MEANT IN THE FIRST PLACE.

I had read it this way: "Btw, look at what EBA already said XD:

    Hiroaki Shoots a [...]"

Yes, then, I responded and considered his comment, I just though he had mistaken ???4 for ???3... but yeah, these are the same actually, but at first I only though ???3 was Gensokyo Past Present.

  • I read things wrong all the time :D

Using nicoaaaabbbccc: 0:38 - 0:55 is SUSPICIOUSLY SUSPICIOUS! It might be TH9.5, because it sounds slightly familiar... but it's kinda slow, maybe it's ending/credits/menu from touhou 3? I will check when i finish checking for suspicious notes.

  • Yes, I hear it too, it isn't too loud but it sound like a cave reverberation piano, and it isn't in the first Cirno riff.

  • Man... I wonder who's the guy behind that list of games featured in the medley. Either he's a complete touhou music mastermind nutfreak and he has got farther than us in the making of such a playlist (right now we have 3 unfound games, and yet there are more to be found), either the guy is wrong and he is making things harder for us who are considering the list to be avtrue statement, or either it was redirected to us from some obscure japanese site/nicovideo/or the maker of the medley itself.

  • Omg... Gensokyo Past and Present never was in my playlist, I sure though that this drumroll was a transition to different song... but hey again, you can be so perceptive and generously detailed. Good job. Yeah, Shoot the Bullet Deluxe Edition, I never played that touhou much.

  • 1:07 to 1:42 I hear Cinderella Cage ~ Kagome - Kagome and I'm pretty sure ???6 is Vessel of Stars ~ Casket of Star, either from Scarlet Weather Rhapsody or Lotus Land Story.

  • Lol, at first I really couldn't find any traces of KagomeKagome... I was about to choose looking rude to you and say out loud "sorry, that really is the song "Bad Apple!!" you can hear all along", but I was thinking, how could that guy mixe the two songs, they're not any similar... and the guy looks serious enough.

So I tried to focus on the background melody... and. ..OOOOYOYHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MAAAAHhhAAAAAAAAAAAN YEAH... JEEZ, AWESOME, you're inhumanly right, I can hear it too. thx

  • 6:00 - 6:03 is Shanghai Teahouse - Chinese Tea

  • OMG, LOL you're right!

I always though that part sounded a little bit out-of-nowhere... nowhere in the songs that were already playing,

  • ???7 is Inanimate Dream - Yuka Kazami's theme from Touhou 4

  • Sorry, but it is not.

  • Damn you are right xD. I just realized that it is actually The Grimoire of Alice - Alice Margatroid's Theme

  • Now you're talking :P, you just knew the song from the beginning anyway, recognizing it is something different... thanks, only 3 more to go for the full suite.

  • ???4 is Gensokyo, Past and Present ~ Flower Land

    Yuka Kazami's theme

???5 is Bad Apple! - Stage 3 theme in Lotus Land Story

???9 is Border of Life (not the second version)

???10 is Charming Domination ~ Who done it? Perfect Cherry Blossom's Extra and Phantasm's theme

  • Good job, specially for these third and fourth touhou songs.

I wonder why I didn't recognized those to PCB songs though...
