My parents were teenagers when LHOP first came out. They didn't grow attatch to it like me. I was flipping through channels one day and saw an earlier ep when Laura was little and I was hooked since! I've surprised many people when they find out that I watch this show at 21 because LHOP aired way before I was born. I have almost all the seasons and I want to show my kids this someday.

This showed premiered when my father was just a baby and when they had my sister and me, he read us the stories before bed and we would watch the everyday on Hallmark Channel. It has become like a family tradition you could say. It seems so sad that something that has been apart of my family for so long is coming to an end. I know I will share this show with my children when I am older just as my parents did to me and there parents to them.

The series made my addiction grow even more and I have loved LHOP ever since! I too, will sahre my LHOP treasures/collection when I have children. I hope they too will pass down this Laura's books and the LHOP series to their children as well. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful LHOP tradition. I can totally relate... : D

Laura usually was the main character, but it still isn't the same...And isn't it weird how it used to star Micheal Landon and was also directed by him, but when he left, it was directed by Victor French(Mr. Edwards) and sorta made him one of the main characters.

@res82598 You're absolutely right! Almanzo and Laura were suppose to takeover as the lead characters where Charles & Caroline left off. And although I enjoyed Laura & Almanzo, I still wanted Charles and Caroline to stay front and center. As you said before, Charles and Caroline were the show. They should have never left the series. It was heartbreaking to see them go. And I too found it rather odd that Victor French took over the director role... It just wasn't the same without C&C.

Well, the Ingalls moved for financial reasons... He was no longer making as much money as a farmer. By working in the big city, Pa would be able to provide more for his family financially.

It's no wonder why it was cancelled after all these years of succsess. It was on for so long many people felt like they grew up in that house and walnut grove. To just do something like this seems kind of wrong, i feel like if i grew up with this show and they did this i would stop watching. honestly i don't usually watch LH-NB and the "explosive" ending reminds me of when you know your losing a card game so you pick up the deck and chuck it. Michael landon was playing 52 card pick-up i think.

Times Are Changing...I think this was the best season premiere ever. It's too bad the rest of the season couldn't be this powerful. This episode totally works as the changing of the guard, and it touches on the dangers of suicide.
