why my figs tree bear fruits after ayear and big but the fruits is no good it dont get ripe and keep faling

i actually have a fig tree thats about 1 yr old an i live in the city an what happen was some rats started to naw the the tree an since then the leaves have welted an fallen off ,a few days after i noticed a discoloration in the branches like a orangesh color amputated the diseased limbs.if anyone has an idea what i can do from here to save my fig tree from completely dying i would very much appreciate an imput

@andyman1925 Sorry I came across your comment a little late but sounds like you have fig rust. I've read that it can be treated with a neutral copper spray. Do a search online for fig rust and you can find out more about the disease and treatment. Figs can also fall prey to root knot nematodes and the fig mosaic virus.

Yes, they can be grown in all 50 states, the only fruit that can make that claim. I zones below 6-7 need to shelter the tree by anymeans in the winter.

we got a fig tree, its pretty big. been in the same place for 50 years. never been pruned. suvived a huge flood about 2 years after it started growing. its been a major part of the family traditions for about 30 years. trees are quite special, especially ones that tste nice
