I'm glad you are interested in pipe organs, and I'm glad that your church has a real one! So many churches have electronic or "digital" organs that have no real pipes; they're not nearly as fascinating or thrilling!
@organist1982 If a church cannot afford,...or does not have the space for,...a real honest to goodness pipe organ, their only choice is "digital" or electronic! If that is the case,Rodgers is their next best choice as Rodgers has the most pipe like sound of any digital organ I have ever heard at least IMO!
Does anyone actually play the organ at your church? You should ask your church's pastor or organist if you can play on the organ there sometime during the week when nothing is going on in the sanctuary; if your church has an organist, he/she could show you how to operate it.
@organist1982 Somebody does play the organ at my church but they say i cant play the organ because the church is very busy all week now for some reason. Maybe next week the church might be empty. If the church is empty next week or in a few days, ill check and see if they'll let me play the organ.
i've never heard this played so "staccato" and didn't feel it at first...but towards the end it grew on me and, after listening to it a second time, i grew to like the playful and expressive approach you took...good for you for thinking out of the box and having fun. Beautiful console!
Thank you so much for this response! Actually, I keep going back and forth about the use of staccato in hymns, but I do like to try different ways of playing!
Very nice playing! That looks a lot like the '88 casavant at our church. They used a lot of the same building materials in the console during that decade.
Our church has a Rogers hybrid, digital/pipe. It produces very good sound, although not quite like a full pipe organ.
