A nice newer mustang wouldnt have had a 350 in a s10 beat it off the line. Mustangs has always been good looking cars but there have been very few that were good for performance. They named it after a horse to give the driver the feeling they were driving something with horse power when infact it was to make up for what they lack under the hood.

The S10 did beat the Mustang off the line though and well up to roughly 40-50mph. That makes sense cause it's probably a stockish 350 which will make a lot more torque down low than the 4.6 will. Then when the Mustang gets into it's power band in 3rd or 4th and the S10s torque surge is long gone, it pulls away easily.

@TheDubeo depends on the size you can go up a very little amount for a little boost in power or better idleing and running of the engine with no change in sound but i am inexperanced in vehicles to truely know but a crappy camera (as this one looked) can make it sound like it has no loopy cam sounds.
@TylerReifenberger5 yea maybe a little small stock type cam..but then way say its cammed if its just around a stock size cam?..any decent cam in that thing and we could hear it...but it idles fast and smooth..
@TheDubeo hmmm very true but now that i do think about it in drag racing you normally hold the engine at a higher rev than idle when your getting ready to take-off the line and that always gets rid of the loopy sound.
@TheDubeo true but any racer will manual or auto will do it that with just touch the cluth a little if it will slip some to tighten up the drive train so there is almost no lag when u do do a full drop for the run

@DannyBSnow Probably, 5.0s are slow, unless your talking about the 2011 5.0. The S10 had a transmission going out and he said it was running lean, but thats not my fault. Ive seen it run low 14s in the 1/4.
@mclamb02 how does it sound stock? you can CLEARLY hear the v8 in it...and they don't come factory with v8s so it's definately not stock....putting a 350 down in an s10 doesn't automatically make it the fastest ride on earth...some 350s have well under 200 hp...depends on what kinds 350 it is and what all is done to the motor. u can't just drop a junkyard 350 in it from a 1980 full size pick up and expect it to be fast...might as well build a 4.3
@tboner793 man he got smoked...that wheel barrel isn't going to make that much of a difference...he probably had it in there to help traction...because they don't get very much with a lot of torque and no weight in the back...mach1s are fast btw...usually around 280 rwhp stock....far from slow
