She's wrong about how petite people should wear higher heels. Petite girls shouldn't wear heels that are too high or risk looking like they're on stilts. There's a problem if the height of the heel is actually longer than your foot.

@missdinamit Lol practice just walking around the room back an forth.. that's what I did and luckily I got used to it for the most part. Just be careful outside on gravel or grass (My heels went right THROUGH the grass into the dirt). After you get there, most girls don't last wearing there heels past the first song, so you'll be fine :D
@xPowderBluLolipopzx I walk on the balls of my feet anyway, so my calf muscles are ROCK. My feet did get worn down by the straps, though... :P Even putting band-aids under the straps didn't stop me from getting blisters. XD

I never think about how I walk in heels though, I just tend to concentrate on putting one foot in front of the other. That's always a good start... :')
@Drzsflakita I am 4'11 and I wear 4 and 1/2 inch heels with at least a 1/2 inch platform... if you can get a higher platform go for a higher heel to match. Also Wedges are more comfortable and you can go for a 1/2 or inch higher heel ( 5 inches ) easier in a wedge. If you are new to high heels, start with 3 inch or so, without a platform. Pretty much the idea is the shorter you are the higher the heel you can tolerate is best, to gain height and make your legs look longer. :)

@VanishMeantime It's really easy. I wasn't able to walk in heels for the longest time because I am so clumsy, but now I can. You need to start off with with a low heel and work your way up. When you wear heels you need to walk on the balls of your feet rather than on your heels and swing your hips from side to side. Hope that helps!

My boyfriend (now ex) loved high heels, so I bought some that had sort of a thicker heel, and platforms, and they were fairly comfortable...but I probably won't wear them anymore since he broke up with me. my heels' shape is exactly like the ones she's wearing (mine are beige and black. i don't like lucite heels at all). i'm 5'4" and i love the way they look, but considering the fact that i always wear jeans, tshirts and converse shoes, i would say i have a lot of work to do in order to be an expert walking in high heels LOL
A body needs to be in proportion i.e. bust. waist, hip ratio. Legs also should look in proportion to body size and not be short on a long body....
being taller doesn't mean you would necessarily have proportion with a short body for instance. It's all about the overall look. Beauty queens are not necessarily catwalk models. They are the girl in the dress not the dress on the girl. I was told this difference by my shows mentors.
Miss Texas 2003..why don't you put your pageant walk from the show on here...i am sure you would be given permission. there are many pageants shown on youtube throughout the ages. Not to please the disbelievers but it would be nice to see you doing the walk the before and aftershow.

Oh really? How many "pageants" state a height restriction? I know there is an age restriction. As far back as the sixties Miss World had contestants of varying heights. Ask the women who have entered already. We should know! You should try. Don't assume. Most Asian women are considered tall for average western height of 5.5ins to 5.6ins.
well in that case be prepared to travel where height restriction does not apply. As most pageants are held in major cities around the world and contests often fly from all over to compete. you may get a sponsor to fly you if you meet the criteria. good luck.

well, i believe every girl should be happy with the height she is. i'm shorter than most of you - only 5'1" and i effin love it. I wear high heels and sneakers and feel comfy in any of these

i don't know why i'm watching this.. because i already know how to walk in heels haha. but i'm like 5'6 and i feel like i can't wait 4 inch heels and up.. i still do anyways, but i feel like a giant in them, especially because my boyfriend is almost the same height as me haha. :(

@lilkenna2006 Your tip is brilliant :) In the past i used to think that with my 1,75 m tall It's just too much to wear high heels. I was so embarrased 'cause i thought that everyone is staring at me an i look like a girraffe. Suddenly i realized that is only my choice and no one can judge me :) Now i'm wearing VERY high high heels (about 12cm) :) and it's fine! So ladies- don't be afraid. We are beautiful the way we are, and we should wear as we like :)

my heels' shape is exactly like the ones she's wearing (mine are beige and black. i don't like lucite heels at all). i'm 5'4" and i love the way they look, but considering the fact that i always wear jeans, tshirts and converse shoes, i would say i have a lot of work to do in order to be an expert walking in high heels LOL

A body needs to be in proportion i.e. bust. waist, hip ratio. Legs also should look in proportion to body size and not be short on a long body....
being taller doesn't mean you would necessarily have proportion with a short body for instance. It's all about the overall look. Beauty queens are not necessarily catwalk models. They are the girl in the dress not the dress on the girl. I was told this difference by my shows mentors.

Miss Texas 2003..why don't you put your pageant walk from the show on here...i am sure you would be given permission. there are many pageants shown on youtube throughout the ages. Not to please the disbelievers but it would be nice to see you doing the walk the before and aftershow.

I'm 5'10" and 56yrs YOUNG; have GREAT sexy legs. I'm wearing ALL the new boots...ankle, calf , knee length~ with jeans, skirts of all lengths and do have to learn to walk in heels all over again.
I have titanium rods in my right leg, and screws in both ankles~the reasons I got away from sexy and made comfort my choice for the past 20 yrs. My son, 18, never says anything about how I dress. Today he just asked me, "Is this here to stay? You look GREAT!"
The new gel insoles sure help, too!

She is not lying...I am 5ft 2ins and one of my pageant videos is on uploads when I was in Miss Asia. It is not about height but body proportion and facial beauty. By the way the majority of the girls in miss asia were under 5ft 5 in the show.

I am exactly 5ft 2 ins. I know I don't meet the requirements for most pageants. Perhaps Mrs. Texas and Miss Asia have different standards.

Oh really? How many "pageants" state a height restriction? I know there is an age restriction. As far back as the sixties Miss World had contestants of varying heights. Ask the women who have entered already. We should know! You should try. Don't assume. Most Asian women are considered tall for average western height of 5.5ins to 5.6ins.

Where I come from, pageants have a minimum height requirement of 5ft 6 ins.

well in that case be prepared to travel where height restriction does not apply. As most pageants are held in major cities around the world and contests often fly from all over to compete. you may get a sponsor to fly you if you meet the criteria. good luck.
