Nope, not a real corsair @ 0:51. It has a straight wing, plus the rudder trails the elevator. On a Corsair, it's the opposite. The wings look more like those of an AT-6 or SNJ, the kind of planes that were used in Hollywood movies to represent Kates, Zekes and other WWII Japanese planes.
Not a real corsair, its straight wing. As for what it really is its hard to say, I'm confused by the cowl near the vert or maybe it's the back of the canopy? Im no expert but I do know that's no corsair
after further review, I take back my original comment, the texan tail is pointed whereas the hellcat had a flat portion on top. I think superchase is right, it is a hellcat.
Looks like a texan to me superchase, and since when do vintage planes allways get painted in their original scheme's? Like old cars, owner preference. It has too long of a wing to be a hellcat plus the helcat had a very fat fuse, and this plane has a fairly slim line to it. By all accounts, it is a texan in navy colors. Go figure.
@superchase08 there were navy schemed texans. All branches used them for training, The army air corps, being the most prolific (the air force as we know it today) but I agree with you, it is a hellcat (I didn't think so at first, but I do now.)
It looks like that's the transmitter from a micro helicopter, like the blade cx2. If it is, you're not supposed to use that with the bigger Parkzone planes because the range of that transmitter isn't sufficient.
Parkzone has sent out a bulletin, which I responded to because the other screws are causing other damage too. F4U Corsair RTF - Important Bulletin (Motor Mount Screw Precaution). My airplane LI PO battery suffered a hole puncture, when my plane was caught by a gust of wind during my final approach to land. The minor nose to ground impact caused the motor mount to crack, but the LI PO battery shifted forward toward the bulkhead and was punctured by the upper screws. Screws are a big issue.
Hey man-its that transmitter! its only for the cx2/3 . It only has a range of about 300 feet!!! don't use it again for an airplane! I found out the hard way...
sorry about your plane. i just crashed mine after about 50 flights. did a bad soldering job on a new battery and lost all power and control. nose dive from 200 feet. broke my wing in 2, cowl and motor mount. probally epoxy the wing back together and a new motor mount and cowl will just cost like 10 bucks. i love z foam
people get this ronge all the time just because its in navy colors doesn't mean it a carrier aircraft. For instant in the vid that aircraft was an AT-6 Texan/Harvard which was an army air corps trainer which eventually was an airforce and navy trainer
The transmitter is the LP5DSM that comes with the Blade CX2/CX3...the range is very small. The "LP" stands for low power and only has a range of a few hundred feet or less. Same thing happened to a flyer at our field with that TX. It's designed for small spaces only.
the big plane is not a corsair if you pause at 0:50 there is no gull wing maybe its a hellcat but i dont think so might be a bearcat.... i would be funny if it really was a corsair tho
I had one of these planes and same thing happened. The dx5 gives a single beep warning that your transmitter batteries are dead before it cuts out into a horrible death. I am yet to use to the dx5 on any of my planes again
hate to sound off with you mate but melcrose i RIGHT that TX you were using should be used in a much smaller space running the RX on a much smaller model so its out of sight b4 its out of range ;) thats why it was shipped with a bcx2
Calm down sonny boy! as i thought you were talking about the r/c plane, and i do know my planes and at least i have video's with me flying them and not just adding my favourite lol, whats the matter won't daddy let you use his video camera or can't you afford one BOY.
I was getting the "dead zones" with my F27c. Ended up replacing the ESC and hey! Presto. No more problems. Eflite crap. First sign of trouble. Replace.
I think the real airplane flying, was a wildcat or a dauntless dive bomber. Are you ganna reuse the same radio system? or are you going back to FM? :)

That was a T-6 Texan flying overhead. The real Corsair has a whistle to it. That is why the Japanese called it "Whistling Death".

shame about your plane
the foam parts are easy to repair with cocktail sticks and some hotglue or foam safe epoxy or ca glue and viola!!
wing looks a dud though
the rest needs a magic wand and some tlc lol
best with a difrent radio
those puppys only have short range as its ment for helis
dx6 or 7 would be more suited
puggster 2 years ago
The LP5DSM claims another victim...
The "LP" stands for low power and the radio is only good for like 50 feet. but can be configured for heli or plane...Indoor flying only!!
I figured this out with my Sea Fury luckily I was able to recover and land safley.

AT-6 Harvard (Texan) to be exact, This Navy Man loves planes. Sorry About your Corsair, Hope you have it back together.
firebirdcdr 3 years ago
Amen on the Tx issue. That Tx is meant to be flown in a gym or house ONLY. NOT A FULL RANGE: like 1mw compared to 1000mw on the normal one.
A little research would have saved you a plane, dangit. :(
