I had a very good upbringing in this town. Just like every other town/city/village - depending on the size of the place to how many there are - there are always people there to ruin it. In the last 10 years the town has really calmed down from it's 'scummy' image and is quiet, apart from an odd occasion when you hear about someone being stabbed to death and people running around with machetes.... But apart from that, I enjoy living here and want my child to grow up here just like I did.
Does Holyhead still have its version of the under 5s? Mind you, they'll be 45 by now. I was there Easter 2011 & it seems to be just like every other town on the coast, neglected. Are Holyhead & Bangor still at war? I remember in the 1980s when the lads from Holyhead would start a fight in an empty room. Used to have run-ins with them on the trains & when they would come down to Colwyn Bay (Metrapole) for a night out. Ah yes, I miss those days. Good luck to the good people of Holyhead. Respect. x
