  • So what was the point of the silicone?

  • do you have to solder them? is it not possible to just slide the covers over the pickups while they're still on the guitar? thanks

  • @rsguitarworks

    Great Video!

What kind of mallet/hammer are you using?

Can you give me a link to it? Please??

  • what soder? you mean soLder?

  • @rsguitarworks What kind of silicone is that? Thanks

  • hi can i just solder the covers to the pickup without adding silicone? im assuming its there to make it stick better, so i would just run the risk of a loose pickup cover? thank you in advacne

  • @rancidhotmail You can add it without using solder or silicone, as long as it fits tight enough it don't matter. Its cosmetic anyway, so if you don't like it, take it off!

  • why are you wearing gloves?

  • "Heat our joint" lol

  • Can I glue it?

  • @buttsy344556 you can glue it so long as its not with a glue that cures through evaporation because it simply would take forever to cure ... hes using caulk beacause its cures without evaporation and it holds almost for good ... only improvement he couldve added would be to have used an epoxy or glue that comes off with heat incase they want it taken off later ... also gluing isnt always required ... glueing just keeps the cover from touching the poles but if its a tight cover it can go without

  • @caulinrocker1 thanks but its to late i already bought the stuff

  • Um I jst commented below this and forgot to mention I have never modded any guitar and I don't even own a sottering iron. Please message me!

  • Do I have to sotter and put the silicone stuff on? Do I even have to take the pickups out? Please send back I jst ordered some covers and thought it would be easy and told my mom that she wouldn't have to pay someone to put them in. Pleasee respond. Pleeaassee!!

  • do you have to solder it, or is that just for extra holding?

  • What type of clamp is that and who makes it?

  • To "dponzi56" it makes me laugh that you think I THINK he is working on HIS guitar. this guy obviously works in a guitar repair shop therefore the chances of this guitar being his is probably 1 to 100,000. maybe you should read what i said more carefully. ALSO gold doesn't tarnish assface..... maybe you should learn something before you jump in and start bashing people. (no wonder why your comments were removed) LOL

  • and you have gloves on because?

  • @dponzi56 really? that's ridiculous your gonna be thrashing on stage anyway........

  • So I can cover my open coil humbuckers with the cover from the covered version of the same guitar?

  • Hey What if you have plastic covers do you put them on the same way?

    please reply :D

  • @SuperGameSpot with plastic covers you risk melting them if your not handy with the iron

  • @SuperGameSpot No, they should just pop over.

  • hey

i was wondering if you have to use the silicon

    thanks

  • @themattncodyproject hes using the silicon instead of wax potting the pup

  • 'Very nice job...

  • i have a epiphone les paul traditional pro, will these covers work on thoes pickups ?

  • why the silicon? Thanks man!

  • Just curious, but will these covers work on a Gibson Dirty Fingers Humbucker? and Will it change the sound dramtically or not?

  • Our covers will only fir PAF spaced pickups with a 49.2mm or 1 15/15" spacing.

  • @rsguitarworks

do you have to sotter them or will the silicone hold good enough

  • @BurnAfterEating it will change the sound a little ... they will make them sound only slightly smoother with more clarity because the push poles are covered and insulated ... but not much difference at all

  • hello i put a pickup cover in a dimarzio evolution and shrilled why ???does not work with this pickup??i waiting for your answer.

  • I have rail style pickups that are already wax potted will this work on my guitar? will it make the tone more warm or microphonic or something? thanks in advance.

  • Rail type pickups? You mean blade style? Only PAF spaced pickups will work with our covers.

  • @rsguitarworks Yeah I wanted to put some pickup covers on those type of pickups. anyways thanks for responding

  • @rsguitarworks Rail type is english.

  • Does it really have to be soldered or waxed?

  • @JapaneseModernist If you want it to stay on. Are you just that lazy?

  • do you have to put the sillicon on if your pickup is already wax potted?

  • It's much better to do it out of the guitar, but if you are very careful you can do it with them still in the guitar.

  • how can i age a guitar pickup cover

  • Do a google search. I'm sure there is a lot of info out there. What we do to ours won't work on most factory covers, so it won't help you.

  • Hey , If someone works in a music store and if I bring you my guitar with the pickup covers can you put them for me ? can I really do that?

  • As you can see in the video it's really easy.

  • shit I dont even know how to take out anything from my guitar I wish I could , oh by the way can I put this on any kind of guitar?

  • If you don't work on your guitar much then I'd say take it to a pro. Covers are specific to each pickup or style of pickup, but you have to be sure to get the right spacing.

  • @rsguitarworks Thanks man.

  • @rsguitarworks Umm , where can I get that glue, is it a special kind of glue ? and is it really necessary to have that holder, Thanks . Im understanding this now. Maybe im going to mess my les paul but no worries.

  • what exactly is the silicon for?

  • What is that silicon thing?

  • It stops the pickup from feeding back without wax potting the pickup.

  • Thanks for the video! Big help, I have been wondering how to do this for a while.

  • do you have to solder on the pickup cover? whats the silicon thing you put on the pick up? Does the pick up have to be off the guitar(as in not soldered on) basically im trying to avoid soldering.

  • @thedonace213 it's best to solder it on it's a very simple thing to do
