  • I trust in a universal healthcare system. So long that Government doesn't force it into my life. Bill is a wise, smart man. Thank god we had him in the 1990s. Proud to have been born under Clinton!

  • @dankfizzy, you sound like a GOP poster child. I can write a book about this but simply. Healthcare is different than anything else because we all need it. Even if you can't afford it should something happen to you your family would want it for you. True everything the government gets involved with costs more. However, healthcare is different . Every country has wrestled with this problem and if free markets were the best way somebody would be doing it.

Where is the GOP plan in writing btw?

  • Those who support this system don't understand the consequences of it. It forces everyone to buy into it even if they don't want to. It raises taxes and further steals from citizens hard earned money. Finally, it gives the government even more control and power than they already have, which is practically impossible at this point. Free market health care is the way to go. Many say "look at what the free market got us, high prices!" But we don't have market health care now. Government is involved

  • I miss the days when the President knew what was going on in other countries.

  • Why is socialism bad? Its just another political system, its not going to destroy this country. The constitution allows people to talk about different political systems and find one that works. Also I'm getting tired of people saying Socialism every time Obama talks about heath care. It's NOT!!!!! Try to talk about why you don't like it instead of scaring people.

  • i love bill clinton so smart...i wish to be a president again

  • wow, I am Canada. This man is so well informed. So so smart.

  • Singapore makes europe look bad and they pay a lot less. Health savings account model.

  • you can't apply Singapore to the US. Singapore is one small city, the US has over 300 million people, and a much larger income gap. Health savings accounts sound like a good idea, but most people here can't afford that.

  • I know that but that doesn't change the fact there model has proven to work better than ours. Go look it up many top economist have said this would save more cost even taking into account that we have a lot more people.

  • give me some links and I'll check it out. If it'll work, i've got an open mind.

  • @ChaoticSouls They'd save costs because the system the government currently runs is inefficient as hell. They'd also save costs by stealing money out of your and everyone elses paycheck.

  • I live in Canada and we LOVE our single-payer system! We are also able to buy the exact same medicine as Americans at a substantially cheaper price!

France's system is good too. The best I'd say is the Netherlands who have a mixed system (as Bill was describing).

The important thing however is the following scary fact:

America is the ONLY INDUSTRIALIZED country that does not offer Universal Health Care! This is because its system is built to profit the Insurance Companies who rake in billions

  • HELLO !??!? ... this is America .. it was "built" on anyone person or entity being able to profit and rake in billions. Laissez faire, competition, free market, ... ringing any bells ?? You want the government scheduling your Dr. visit or telling companies how much profit they can and cannot make ... Mexico and Venezuela are just a $500 airplane ticket away.

  • @litexas That's an interesting philosophy. I suggest you go and ask the poor people with terminal illnesses what they think. I fail to understand how you sleep at night, to be blunt. Spend some time with the suffering and you might find your ideals aren't so ideal after all.

  • @litexas america also had slavery starting out. stating that we did something 200 something years ago has no bearing.

the constitution does not say WE MUST HAVE PRIVATE HEALTHCARE

  • @andyx1205

Same as here in Britain, the tax payer pays for our NHS, which serves every single British citizen.

We are happy with it, it offers a quick, clean and effecient service that is world class.

  • @andyx1205 You may pay less when at the hospital but you lose more in taxes.

  • US health care now ranks 37th abd you pay ther most

The insurance industry and big Pharma have been working overtime to convince

Americans that Canadians have to wait

    and are dying waiting.

We laugh at Americans who talk like this

Clinton a great president ousted for having sex with a female.

while the American people stood by and did nothing when Bush the war criminal

    tortured,lied numerous times,started 2 illegal wars.

how do the American people sleep at night

  • I am so proud we elected this man. He is brilliant. We would be in far better shape as a country if he were still in charge.

  • do you people actually buy this garbage? lowering costs by making people of value slaves to the leaches of society? leaches who never stop consuming because the politicians promise it for free. speaking of insatiable appetites. did he say childhood obesity was his biggest issue? didn't he do photo ops in McDonald while he was in the white house? what about syphilis as a pet issue? Monica didn't look like she had the cleanest mouth.

  • Nothing is free!

  • The only point he missed is healthcare unchanged will kill this country. Healthcare costs for manucaturing in this country is 8% more than Canada. The only reason companies stay is for the government tax breaks. Well you and I pick up the lost tax revenue. We cannot continue. Well said Bill

  • @mangravy2000 Think about what you're saying because it's important. The government is ALREADY involved in health care and look how bad it is. What people here are calling for is even more government involvement. We cannot continue, you're right. We cannot continue letting government interfere in markets and drive the prices up. Get them out of health care and let the free market work.. watch costs go down and efficiency go up.

  • I'm in shock- someone on american news whos speaking the truth about 'socialised' medicine!

  • Malaysian heath care are almost free. But not as good compares to those in canada

  • I was in the hospital for 8 months from a major stroke, and they operated too. Now I'm back to work, also paying my taxes. No Medical Bankruptcy here. But I live in Canada. Those commercials saying we have waiting lists trying to sway Americans how Universal Healthcare is bad, are BULLSHIT!

  • You tell him bill, the right hates bill because many of times he hits the nail on the head. The truth will set you free.
