@ssjLancer without the restorations TLK and many other classic cartoons would fade into obscurity, The film on which these were stored dont last long, especially with many uses. Restoring them makes them look brand new again. Just like back in 1994 when TLK first came out.

@Silvawolf100 Youre incorrect. Disney movies in the 90's(like Lion King) were made with CAPS. So they were already stored digitally(no degradation).

Theres no reason for Disney to change the colors and animations. But they do it to appeal to the dora explorer crowd.

And they have perfect ORIGINAL copies of even their older movies. You can see this from their pre-restoration HD blu ray trailers. But they choose to change the colors so they arent even the same movies anymore.

Oh, the blessed stubborn nostalgic people, casting down new things only because they're partially different. Their intention wasn't to appeal to the "Dora The Explorer crowd". Their intention was to restore it and just give it more vibrant colors because that was one of the draws of this movie, its amazing color scheme fused with its serious and emotionally captivating story. But if it's not EXACTLY how it was before, people complain and riot.

I took art classes and I draw what I see, I drew a pic from a photograph of a real lion and from what I saw and drew is lions have slightly longer muzzles. Simba looks more lion like in the updated version but I think nala looks better in the first one, in the second her head is drawn higher.

Better to view for the new auditory, to rebirth one of the greatest movies for new generations. But some people remember how they watched the old, rough movie, and this feeling will never be "converted in 3D". Newer people won't understand this, but no one asks them to.

@11haythem That's actually not true. The new version merely decreased Gamma and recolored the environment. It looks darker, not necessarily the happy, feel-good association I would tag a Disney movie with. While I do agree the "retro logic" is quite annoying, the new one isn't better, it's just more immediately visually aesthetic. Which is appealing, but it's not descriptive of the environment, and conflicts with the theme.

Everyone looks too dark in the new version. The old version is the version I grew up with and remember very well. The ORIGINAL '94 theatrical release was fine the way it was and It was wrong of Disney to change up so much. Remastered doesn't always mean its going to be better. They ruined a classic with too much remastering.
