Its depressing because you see the guilt eating him alive. It's depressing cause you could really feel for what was going on in his mind. 1 the ending isn't very hopeful because it doesn't seem that all that much of the weight was lifted off the guy's chest after writing the letter, he still has to live with it, and it seems that he actually is going to get caught in the end because i think one of the last scenes that take place in the movie's chronological storyline is him being questioned one-on-one by the detective, meaning they suspect him of something, cont.

Would you have wanted Alex to be caught?If so, you can just imagine he was, and the skating scenes at the end of the film are his subsequent reflections, and would therefore correspond with his gult, just like how he imagined the skaters in the tunnel after running from the train yard and the slashed body. So the story is purposefully left undone:)

what was so hard to understand?its this guy,who likes skateboarding -but isnt that good at it-&wants to be accepted by the ''paranoid park'' comunity.Then the accident happen,the investigator comes in his school to ask questions (i think because they found the skateboard or they somehow understood that this was the''weapon'')he gets all stressed&in the end he follows Macys Advice and writes the whole thing down to get it out of him,he burns the letter,& i guess no one found out what happend
