Yes, I just came from the dealer and my 1999 3500 with a 454 engine does not have a cabin filter so now it is confirmed. But it does have stinky air vents when the heat is on. So that is the problem for me.

210K and was not getting any air, was having to run the fan on 5 and max a/c. I only removed the two screws due to the center console and it was simple replacement. Thanks for the video.
@plastite Hey Jim, on your 2003 Chevy discontinued the cabin filter due to a redesign in the HVAC system. The service manuals may say that there is a replacement for your vehicle, but there isn't.
@1aauto Thanks again, I did some research and found out GM cheaped out on 2003-2006 trucks. I have lots of problems with my heater/AC. I think the resister is gone now.

@231MasseyFerguson Yes your truck has one, it filters the air coming in to the passenger compartment. We lived for years without them but they do improve air quality in the car. If you have not changed yours in a long time/ever you will probably notice your fan blows stronger after you do change it.
@1aauto THANKS FOR THE REPLY! Ok, is it in the same location as the one in this video? I sure hope you're right because I've had to argue up and down with people about my truck having an in-line fuel filter. Even had a couple people crawl under it to look for themselves!! LOL! And yes, they crawled right back out, dirty, and admitting I was right. (That's the funny part!) I was told the fuel filter is in the tank and it gets changed with the fuel pump......I'll be checking on the cabin filter.
