LOL - bunch of ungrateful retards. If that was too complex maybe you should stick to PlayStation. I don't think csev was going for an Oscar here. Just say thank you for sharing and stfu.
does this work for windows vista cuz i got up 2 5:10 and it does not recognize emulator as a command ????? help mee lol. i just got the haipad n i need this 2 work lol
If you would like to try some of the cool Android apps on your desktop, you can simply download and install YouWave Android software on Windows. Instead of manually following these many technical steps, you can run an app very easily by just few clicks.
Before you to a "tutorial", you should do a dry run so that you are familiar with the necessary steps that are involved. That way you're not torturing your audience while you try and figure out what your're doing.
There must be at least one platform installed , the latest platform is 2.2, if you try to run emulator before that, then i will not help , i am still trying to run the first program from last 1 hour, but at least the emulator is set now :)
command prompt i get error - you did not specify a virtual device name, and the system directory couldnt be found...i followed ur instrctions to the word - Win 7
too much playing around without saying a word what you were doing.. e.g. changing the envirinment variable etc. ... a newbie and had a hard time figuring it out... as an instruction video 5/10

actually i get this :
C:\Users\paul>emulator
emulator: ERROR: You did not specify a virtual device name, and the system
directory could not be found.
If you are an Android SDK user, please use '@<name>' or '-avd <name>'
to start a given virtual device (see -help-avd for details).
Otherwise, follow the instructions in -help-disk-images to start the emulator

Just to clarify, I had to install the Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers, Windows version, from the Downloads page to get Android to work.
