This song was written by Jon Poole and was performed in the run-up to the release of the Guns album, as far back as 1999. It was supposed to be on the 2002 album, which 'got broken' and never came out (there are rumours that a lot of recordings for that album were accidentally erased). Jon's band The God Damn Whores have since demoed the song and given copies away at GDW gigs (I know 'cos I got one).
The lack of a Cardiacs studio version frustrates me 'cos it's my favouritest Cardiacs song!
@w1521 Thanks for the info, didn't know all that. So they had an album that may have got accidently erased? Bloody hell, how much misfortune can one band have?
@Monkeyhead75 AFAIK it's a song they never officially released although I'm sure I've heard the studio version of it somewhere. I think it dates from the early 00's and is aka 'Sparkly Silvery Sky'.
