Better cautious than not being cautious with that fine olde Big-Game Mauser you have. Yes, the wax works on Leather as well. Many time shave I scuffed my shoes , and applied Fritz's Wax to them working out the scuff and putting a nice sheen on them as well. Keep that fine olde Big-Game Mauser happy and looking good with "Fritz's Wax".
I inherited an old 9.3x62mm Mauser was in bad shape: surface rust,dried-out stock,plus the leather sling was cracked and dried. A friend suggested I watch this video. I was skeptical and after watching it asked if I could try some of his wax. tried it first on the sling, better safe than sorry. The sling soaked it up and looked a lot better than before. I tried the rest on the entire rifle and was wowed what this wax did to my Mauser. It looks nearly brand new. Can't wait to show it to friends.
