the only explanation would be that the sound is desynced by like 4 or 5 seconds or so... and that he is playing one weeeeeeeeeeeeeeird arrangement... but I find that highly unlikely, considering how exactly similart the sound is to most other recorded versions I've heard

Having played a rough version of this song, and examined other videos (some of eric johnson himself) I believe this is a fake video...for one example, just look when he is at the part that starts low climbs back up, he stays at roughly the 12th fret, never starting lower and climbing up....... Unless he is playing a never before seen arrangement, and is using an insane amount of effect pedals in order to lower the sound of his guitar.... well.... I really don't see how this couldn't be faked...
