  • haha dnt familiar boxer heheh

  • soon he's become familiar to you,mark this word,,hehehe

  • He looks a little heavy. Maybe he should be a jr. lightweight rather than lightweight.

  • i still don't have confidence with this guy.. gees.. anyways, Godbless in your boxing caravan..

  • Gesta u r one of the greatest boxer of the philippines

  • mercito should join team pacquiao.. he's good.. another good filipino boxer..

  • Mercito is a dope fighter, hope he'll be as good as Manny someday, and its always fun seeing my tito Jun(his cutman) in these vids lol

  • @kidrhimel Lol dope, Dope as your face..... fck yahhhh!!!!!.....

  • He was trained before as muaythai kickboxer when he was still a kid. His father was a former mauythai fighter.

  • why is Gesta listed as only 5'5 on here but 5'7 on boxrec. Did he grow a couple inches since this fight? lol

  • and he moves like muaythai..

  • @iwantsweetpotato i agree lol

  • I'd like to see Mercito to be train by Mr:Freddie Roach,& Alex they got experienced

he is going to be a different fighter once he join team Pacquiao, only my opinion!

  • lumon nku..hehhe..GEsta kapamilya..

  • make rios gesta fight,

  • @iamzero79 How do you think Jether "Hitler" Oliva will do against Solis this Saturday?

  • @HairyTarantula1 jether is going to get his ass knocked out i dont why this guy thinks he has a chance

  • @xmanoro Can you beleive a fucking filipino thinks of himself as Adolf Hitler?

  • Fast, strong and slick.. w/ very good lateral movements... qualities that Pac-Man has. Arum must be right about him.

  • @ericmorales1023 Benavidez vs gesta sparing round 1.

  • Rios kos this guy in 4 rounds. Gesta fights in spurts. He throws a few punches, poses, and resets. He won't be able to handle Rios' relentless aggression.

  • gesta is lyk tyson

    gesta is lyk tyson

  • no to big head

  • I'm Filipino, I'm rooting for Gesta, but I don't think he's ready for Brandon Rios yet. He still has to improve a bit on his defense by fighting faster fighters than this.

  • mercito called brandon out. i would like to see the fight. it's gonna be a good fight.

  • all hype, rios will ko this dude

  • @HmongLauj92 are you kidding me? He's got nowhere near the "pop" of Pacquiao. Don't get over excited. Don't rush this kid. Damn promoters might mess this kid up. I'm worried about his current handlers. No rushing. NO!!! He's not the next Manny Pacquiao. Arums a snake. Rios will kill this kid. He's not ready yet! Fight Rios next year earliest. He needs more fights under his belt.

  • I like his footwork. Light on his feet. Decent hand speed. Heavy hands. Needs to be a little more relentless. Definitely, needs to work on his defense. More head movement!!! Getting hit by a journeyman is no good. I like the way he cuts off the ring. Needs to shoot that jab more, to keep the better fighters off him. Not ready for Rios. He needs more fights. They are fools if they rush this kid. A couple more years of tuning. He's not ready for the top fighters yet.

  • al tigre lo hicieron famoso nada mas aqui en guaymas xD!

  • Brandon watch out! Eto na si `No Mercy`.....

  • RIOS IS NEXT. TKO HIS ASS. At sa mga sira ulo ngaaway d2 sa utube. Manood nalang kyo at mag chongke.

  • This Kid is promising. We just hope that the Gayweather's won't accuse him of being on something when he moves up in weight. Uncle Roger Fagweather is ready to open his mouth and say something stupid.

  • rios nex year

  • The patience and some moves of Gesta reminds me more about Bernard Hopkins.

  • awaiting for a big fight...another filipino to be proud of... mabuhay.. kabayan.. salamat sa nag post ng video...

  • nice... the next manny pacquiao, keep it up.... undefeated pa....

  • wag magsabihan ng bobo... maglaban na lang kayo sa ring dun nio ibuhos ang mga galit nio,,,, hehehe tapos iupload natin dito sa youtube...

  • the kid is good...but rios has more power and speed.....

  • I was live at this fight and I was instantly impressed with this kid. I liked his poise and patients in the ring. A few more fights and mega show down can be made between Brandon Rios vs Mercito Geta!!!

  • Way To Go Marcito!!! Cebu got your back !!!!!

  • second pacquia

    o!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @mabalasikable I don't think he fights catchweights.

  • i want to see this guy fighting better opponent. like Antonio Demarco first.

  • Comment removed

  • Zero defense! slow feet, poor technique. seems to have some power though and lefties give problems to anyone. With a little bit of steroids he will be alright!

  • @DeathMetalforever you dont know what youre talking about man. Better shut up if you got nothing else good to say!

speaking of defense and footwork, you obviously havent seen Gesta past fights. The way Gesta can move side to side with his feet and his Generalship in the ring is impressive at his young age and experience. Gesta pretty good defense, You just dont see it that much since HE USUALLY the one WHOOPING the opponents. One Punch of Gesta can change the way his opponent fight.

  • @DeathMetalforever again if you arent that gifted with powerpunch, yes you better upgrade your best in defense, coz if you cannot respect your opponent with your punching power, it will be usually the end of you in the ring unless you run n run n run n run and fans will boooo you all day.

  • @DeathMetalforever if you think you can do better, get in the ring with him fuckin e-warrior! faggot ass hater

  • lets not forget, the kid is only 23 years old..... Hes still improving and ABSORBING as much EXPERIENCE every fight. Im excited about Mercito is.... HE ALWAYS "Upgrades" every aspect of his fighting style. If we want speed( He has it!) ; if we want skills( he has it ); wanna test his chin?( Mercito took some good shots and throw back HARDER combos of punches); if we want POWER?( no doubt, Gesta always deliver that Filipino Power PUnCH)..... HE WILL JUST gets better n BETTER EVERY FIGHT.

  • great ko by the way

  • mercito has skill and some speed but i wanna see him face a hungry guy who has decent power and speed i like emrcito tho he could be the next big thing he has the smart ring skills and he has good combos

  • Seeing how good and promising Mercito is, it just gets me excited to see how far he can go. He has the fire, hunger, and determination that only great fighters have. Good luck Mercito

  • He looks like Slater

  • gesta's style is very similar to a muay thai fighter

  • Mercito has his own fighting style... i Can't see pacquiao in him...but this guy will definitely become a superstar someday!!!

  • you r the next superstar...wew ana jud bai dah igo lage...hahaha

  • Pimentel looked good for the first two minutes. 'Boxing well. But, one punch can change everything. And Gesta--WOW. That guy's looking like a little Tyson.

  • pagarpar mga ALA lihok pasultihon.., dli kai sulti pabuhaton.... more mercy 2 u gesta!!!!

  • Permission to upload your video to a boxing tracker

  • man i love this dude! he said he's here now and i believe him!

  • wack

  • Comment removed

  • We got pacquiao, donaire and gesta. this guy will out maneuver rios!!

  • Its all about work ethics man! Gesta knows the way of the filipino warriors(HARD WORK), he learned that from his Dad(also a great Filipino Fighter)

I like how Gesta always bring NEW UPGRADES on the way he fights every fight. He will make his own legend as a Fighter.

I hope Donaire will be back soon in the ring:(

Congratz and God Bless Mercito! More Success to you man!

  • mabuhay mga bisdakkkk....

  • mabuhay ka Mercito, ur d best....

  • Aha, mexicans has to wait a little longer. a new executioner is in town.

  • LOOKS LIKE A GAME

  • hes a good kick boxer too

  • the other gesta's opponent is w22 l 11 too?

  • im waiting for this. Thanks bennyfifty....

  • yes, gesta. idol......

  • the next pacquiao!

  • what i see in gesta that i don't in rios is raw intensity. so that's just an obseration, he has a chance

  • I think Mercito should switch to Orthodox. His left hand did absolutely nothing in this fight. I noticed in the second he switch right handed and dropped the mexican. I think he should experiment with that stance. He just doesn't look comfy as a lefty.

  • YOWSERS!!!

  • I like the way you he handle his opponents, the strength and speed are there, focus on head movements and defense, you gonna need it on big fights and most of all be humble and leave your feet on the ground...we'll be watching and hey I might buy you a beer in the Fusion.

  • Wow "quick & silver" Gesta ...... he's been playing all bum's and rios is on the top list...... so bring it on....

  • he does the creep up walk like tyson

  • he probably needs 2 to 3 more fights before arum pit him against the lions of 135-140.dont get too excited as he's style is prone to counter punching and leaves himself open too many times.obviously got hurt by some body punches but im glad he just shugged it off like a dundruff lol.i just thought rios will be too much for him at this point.

  • @fretduster03 Agreed, Gesta is decent but we dont know how he will fair against the elite. Right now would be a good time to step up to B-level comp

Hopefully his team is wise enough to know how to build him, like Mikey Garcia's team. Both are young (same age in fact lol) and talented. Maybe sometime in the furture Gesta will be picked up by a decent trainer, not saying he should dump the Parras as they can still stay as his manager

  • to those who said he has only fought bum fighters. hes been winning with all these bums wasnt he? 22 wins with no loss and been winning with ease, knocking out his opponents his last several fights? wasnt that the case with julio cesar chavez early on in his career? all he fought was bums. isnt that how he got to 100 wins, by beating on bums?

  • quick hands, crisp powerful punch and good combinations...lots of potential! i guess he knows he can take pimentels punches, coz he was just coming in with very little defense or head movement, i hope that was the case because with top caliber opponents, that would be like a sitting duck. anyways, great win mercito...BENS cafe na lol! lakas mag promote ni joena e.

  • Welcome to Top Rank, Mercito!

  • i think this is the next manny pacquiao... go go mercito we filipinos support you a lot!! This is the next pride of the philippines

  • I'm surprised by the amount of hype Gesta is starting to receive. He's probably becoming more hyped than any other Filipino prospect before. It's kinda funny because Gesta said that he doesn't want to be compared to Pac, but then Arum claims he's the next Pac lol. The truth is Gesta still has a long way to go. He needs to start fighting ranked fighters or he's going to become accustomed to feasting on bums. He leaves himself way to open for counters.

  • @TheJaguarKnight that's because filipinos feel that manny is on his way out and that the need someone that they will root for...because for them donaire is not next pacman cuz of the way he talks and is filipino american...w/c they say is not pure filipino...

  • @coolmartcola just because donaire can speak really good english doesnt mean hes not pure filipino. nonito didnt get to the US til his teen years.

I didnt know tyson, hagler, leonard, duran, holyfield, foreman, ali, roy jones jr were filipino...coz i rooted for those guys!

  • @jammer4life619 well most filipinos believe that shit.....personally i root for donaire because of his style of fighting....there are some boxers regardless of color that i don't support.....and there are also filipino fighters that i don't support...i don't really support ala fighters because of their poor style of fighting....they all fight the same way....even though i'm bisaya ...i just don't like their style...that's just me though

  • @coolmartcola sakto ka inday..sagaran sa mga ala boxer mga hambog kaau..wlay au..kung style lang mas ok ko ni donaire ug gesta..ambot lang sa uban

  • Gesta will get tested later in his career. Right now he's taking the right path. His opportunity will come and I know he'll be ready!

  • lmao this chump wants to fight Bam Bam Rios!???

  • @APINEDO69 Arum is not stupid, he's not throwing this Gesta against Rios. Can you tell me who this Vazquez is? What's his first name, do you know?

  • gesta ain't 5'5 he's 5'7...he's taller than pacquiao..

  • @coolmartcola No he's not. Pac is 1/2" taller.

  • @HairyTarantula1 he is man...i've seen him train wild card and i'm just as tall as he is...and i'm 5'7....even boxrec has him at 5'7...

  • @coolmartcola Why are you argueing so hard about 1/2"? The problem with this dude(Gesta) is that he's not particularly good at anything. All you guys are going crazy just cuz he beat a bum(Pimentel). So now Arum says he's the new Pacquiao huh? This dude is gonna be fed bums just like this one, open your eyes, Gesta is B- boxer.

  • @HairyTarantula1 no he'll never be pacman....i've never said he'll be the next pacman....no one is....yeah he's never been tested before as long as he's fighting bum after bum......so after he fights a top 10 fighter and beat him...then i'll change my opinion.....but for now he's just fighting bums.....so don't act like i'm hyping him....the dude fought nobodies....so

  • @coolmartcola You might not be but some people in here are already calling him an idol. Anyways Arun said Gesta will be fighting for a championship by the end of the year.

  • @HairyTarantula1 then that's great for gesta.then if he wins he's gonna have a world title....that's good for boxing and for filipinos to root foreand arum i think also said he's going to fight again in the next 6 weeks...and i hope he's fighting a legit top 10 fighter.if he's not then....i'm not gonna change my opinion....the biggest name that he fought so far was meza.but i don't think he was that good....him and david diaz should be good...or even demarco.....or someone in the top 10

  • @HairyTarantula1 How can u say Gesta is a b-boxer? He only had 23 fights still improving and has yet to face big challenges. So we are only about to see if he is for real or not.Dont make stupid opinions ,bro sometimes we gotta use are brain.Lets try not to be bias and think carefully next time.No one can ever be certain about the future.Lets just wait and see what happens alright.

  • @anubadapatpassword Yeah sure ok, no problem. Since your new hero will be fighting for the championship later this year, ah, yeah I'll be watching, just for laughs. Arum is selling you guys a bunch of BS, and you're biting.

  • There is no rivalry between Mexico vs Philippines. These freaking commentators are trying to build up this Gesta, I guess thery're just following orders from Arum.

  • Comment removed

  • This kid's style is must see! He has a real bold, confident way about him in the ring. I dont know if that approach will work once he steps up in competition. I'd like to see more head movement, more slips, and for him to sharpen that defense so that he doesnt get hit as much: progressing his elusiveness should be his #1 priority.

I hope he continues to work hard to improve and that he maintains his humble attitidue. Good luck to Mercito Gesta. Can't wait for his next fight!

  • Filipinos taking over boxing muddafckas lol

  • @Bl4cKM4mBa4 lol nah bruh far from it.

  • the next manny pacquiao.....

    please upload more fight...

    your my idol gesta....

  • Mercito Gesta was relentless and confident but still I don't think he is ready yet for Brandon Rios or Vasquez.

He still needs to train on that defense cause he takes punches that are unnecessary to take.

  • @caguioaness he was born and raised in the Philippines

  • He can speak some Filipino but he sounds more like he was born, raised, and trained in the US. Am I right in this?

  • @caguioaness born in Cebu City, Philippines. Tagalog is his first language

  • @caguioaness actually no. He was born and raised in the Philippines, if not mistaken Cebu. Fluent in his native language. i actually meet him for the first time at his victory party. Very humble.

  • I'm happy Gesta won, but i'm not convinced the way he fights. He has a lot to learn in boxing especially his footwork and defense. He only defend his power punch and is very slack in his defense.

  • not the next pac but he's gonna be the next dominant filipino boxer wow so happy to see another one I thought there's only pac and nonits.

  • gesta vs Katsidis would be a good fight. gesta has a lot of potential but fighting 8 rounders against journeymen is not going to get him a title fight. Get real. Let's see who he fights next. That will tell everyone exactly where his management thinks he is. Fighting another tomato can only tells me they don't think he's ready anytime soon. Gestards should just about right for some. Seriously, anyone who's thinks this guy can take on Rios is dreaming. The diference is RIos hits back lol.

  • go go goPinoy

  • damn gesta went in this fight knowing he was gunna win. RESPECT GESTA!

  • Gesta is still too green for the LW elites...still need 2-3yrs of seasoning... i hope his management wouldnt rush him, mapareha nya ni Boom2x ug uban pa na kuwang sa pa seasoning puro lang hype... he's been fighting bums well top rank is the best in the business in grooming fighters.. hope he'll get on top later but not soon...

  • praktis pa ug footspeed dong, para world champion na

  • Gesta vs Vargas is more like to happen than Rios-Gesta. Rios is one of the top toprank fighters, Arum will protect him for a possible upset on the hands of this promising Pinoy fighter.

  • I know that mercito is more than ready to challenge bambam hopefully later this year, but I don't think big boss bob would let this fight happen, coz he's afraid that mercito would destroy rios that would also eventually destroys bob's promising plan that he had in for rios. Obviously bob earns more money on rios, that's why his afraid that a guy like mercito would end that. But if mercito is as popular as rios right now, no doubt a fight between this two exciting fighter would difinitely happen

  • I give ges I give ges.

  • he's ready for a big fight (title fight)

  • He could be a next big thing after donaire and pacquiao since he is still young and already had a skills that pacquiao didnt have at his time... It will just take time... Dont rush this kid...

  • he needs to utilize the jab more. I'd like to see him get tested against an elite fighter!

  • Fights flat-footed, but talented nonetheless.

  • YAWARDS!!!Gahi au Borjing bei!!!FIGHTERA UI!!

  • patarantado pa ang gupit.

  • How come he got smaller? 5,7 to 5,5?

  • Gesta should demand better opponents from Bob Arum.

  • @CB54321 There's a dude out there Antonio DeMarco.

  • Antonio DeMarco vs ExEdrin Gesta.

  • Hey Flips don't get fooled by this Gesta, he's a mirage.

  • Gesta needs to step up his competition if he expects to get any better. He looks like he could become a decent all around fighter, but he's kind of small and right now, I don't think he's displaying exceptional skill or power.

  • @TheJaguarKnight His promoters get him fighters, he doesn't choose them. As far as skill, he is pretty damn patient and has a killer uppercut. Plus, if he continues to work with Roach....SHHH*t!! Watch out. He is actually 5' 7 not 5 '5 as the video implies. So his size is actually perfect to get in to the 147lb

  • @LazerRight

You're getting carried away here. Do you remember Banal? How about Concepcion? oh then there's Melligen, do you remember them? What happened?

  • @HairyTarantula1 nonito donaire.

  • @wallywest Monito Donaire=Celestino Caballero

  • @HairyTarantula1 Donaire fights nothing like Caballero if thats what youre implying, hes not tall and lanky like Caballero either

  • @mumyoryu

Monito has made a living off beating blown up FLYWEIGHTS like Hernan Marquez. Oh and Montiel is also a dwaf.

  • @HairyTarantula1 How come guys like you can make all kinds of excuses? can u just fucking act like a man and accept defeat.Ur just pulling urself down by making to much excuses.
