im kind of a computer noob, but, this doesnt seem like it takes alot to run this game @ max, i got a pretty good alienware laptop. do you think i could play this game, my main concern would be about how massive the game is. kind of unsure about playing a sanbox game like this on my laptop.

i don't like the cartoony visuals BUT i'm gonna try it anyways i know myself i always liek things that i hate in the beginning (execpt hiphop i still hate that)
Can I play this on my computer it has, 4 gigs of ram an AMD althon II X2 duel core proccesor, and a NVIDIA geforce 9200 a quick reply would be good thanks
@skullknight302 oh ok thnx man it got finished downloading yesterday was playing it all day its very fun, i can play it with medium textures and details and hd resolution but it will lag a bit so i usaly put it on 800 by 600 so i get better performance.
@higorfelipe97 I don't know the 5470, but the rest of your pc should be ready to max it out without problems. If your Graphicscard only has 400mhz, you should think about buy another card
this game does seem pretty awesome!!...for the short time I got to try at my friends on his ps3, sense you no...they don't make PC demo's of this stuff anymore without having to grab a bootleg!, its got the 4 player coop of left 4 dead, the detail yet comic book like graphics of Champions Online which is good cus it makes it look real in a different unique anime way,and last but not lest the leveling and skill system of MMO games only instead of swords and shields you can use machineguns!
I love everything about thus game, the graphics, the fun, and mostly the music. I had so many great times at my freind's house playing this, we'd play it until 3 AM and aww, man so much nostalgia in that music, I love it!
I can't stand using a revolver without a scope. They're usually as accurate as some rifles, and more or less play similar roles, imo, save for the lack of critical bonuses. I mean, I see it has Unending Firepower, but honestly, once you break the fourth ammo upgrade or so, ammo is never an issue. I always go for sheer accuracy, scopes, and firepower.

Even on a lower end card like my HD 4350, the game still looks relatively good. It's not like some games where low settings completely destroys the graphics. I'm able to keep all textures on high since I've got a 1GB card, so even with lower details and effects it still looks good, and gets me a more than playable framerate.
Arkham Asylum on the other hand looks like crap on low settings and still stutters heavily.
@jvdthwip aww i've got mobility HD5870 2GB VRAM but this game can't be ran on max with that!! I've got to turn off this.. dynamic lighting or something, so the contrasts is much lesser now, but still, textures are awesome and outstanding. But still, I used to run this on my Intel 965 (lol) and the biggest hit is actually resolution. But, lowering that just burns my eyes. Resolution is a must fit, but too bad, the other settings like texture quality and all others don't make big diferences in fps

@Lylox1 Your video card is more important than your processor. I'm running Borderlands on low settings and hi res textures on a low end $30 HD 4350 and getting 30 fps in some areas. Higher $70-90 cards obviously get better, and so on, when you enter GTS250, 350, 450 territory. I've only got a 2.2 ghz single core AMD Athlon, and 1.5 GB of ram. It all depends on the video card in a game like this which has fairly simple AI. Games like L4D need more CPU since they're controlling hundreds of zombies
@natazer theres one major downside to their system though... its so easy to mod it for all platforms making shields like the Rose Omega etc which are so overpowered its not even funny
@Fallhearst It's probably signs of it's console heritage. However I'd imagine you can tweak the minimum shadow resolution in the settings file because it's an Unreal Engine 3 game.
@TropicalTendencies well, the bad thing is no, you can not change difficulty level, but the game is really fun and has great weaponary that will always get you out of trouble(exept the boss fights) and you just need to customize your character to be able to survive, but if you like you can add cheats that makes you invincible(can't die, only if you have a PC version of the game)
Some people need to go back to Final Fantasy then lol I also think the visuals for Borderlands are pretty amazing. Cant wait for Borderlands 2!! :) Heard its in the making but cant find any info on it sadly.

@EvilN00ber well first of all when I said it's art I didn't refer only to the graphics. The whole concept of Bioshock it's an art to me: strong story(really gonna be a movie someday), interesting characters, crazy scenarios( first they begin it underwater then they literary burst it into the skies, that's a risky thing to do for all the bioshock fans, it starts alot of gossip and controverse) and the graphics are not supposed to look realistic. You said it: they use Unreal Engine. love blands!

Yeah even music counts haha, but honestly, i hate to say this, but in Blands, the wandering/scavenging music got boring very quickly for me, they're all the same yeah? Except when bigger enemies come and the music changes into another more intensive one. But still, nothing's perfect. My (a bit) un-satisfication on the music is nothing compared to how the graphics, mission stories impressed me crazily :DD
@EvilN00ber I really like post-apocalyptic scenarios, so I'm a huge fan for movie such as The day after tomorrow or 2012, so when I saw Borderlands I was like "wooh! post-apocalyptic shooter", but then I saw the graphics and yes!.. yes! I mean, don't get me wrong, I like Bioshock more than Borderlands, but borderlands has a blessed place in my "favorite games section" :)). it's superpower!

@EvilN00ber Yes, I liked it, though it has alot of buggs. But I like more Blands. The thing I like about Fallout it's that they keep more present time elements than in Blands, even the weapons. But damn! Borderlands has the most awesome weapons.

Can't wait for it!) and many others. I'm not a freak, I actually have a life :)) I just like shooters, and games in specially.

You can get those looting elements in all MMORPGs but sometimes people get rly annoying right? @EvilN00ber as far as I know there aren't many. Most of them are 2k actually, blands, bioshock series, but also Fallout, right? there's a new shooter right now in stores, Bulletstorm and it has some crazy graphics and some Blands elements, have you checked it?
@Costinesuper oh yeah, i know it but haven't check if they have that weapon system like B-land's.. Yeah, crazy enough :) But actually, i personally think it's mostly the atmosphere in Bstorm that includes those nice explosion effects, the settings and sceneries (buildings, mountains, terrains, weather etc), and actually it's still realistic in Bstorm (like others, Mw2, Crysis etc), while in Blands the graphics are like.. cell shaded, sort of the drawn-using-pencil kind :) don't you think?? ahah

i have a question. The game is fluid while i'm playing, but during loads ( for example between 2 map ) i have to wait 5 minutes. Is it due to the RAM ( 1go ) ?
@StopFear i would guess the siren...since she can turn invisible and sneak away from enemies. meaning you can get to way points faster. my first was the soldier too, but i think ill play it again as the assassin next

This was an okay game, but the beginning few levels were boring, uneventful and just grinding. I hate how every game starts out like this. They need to try something like City of Heroes, where your character starts out super-powerful and eventually gets to be an epic legend. Why isn't every game like that? Instead of listing things like "rusty sword" "chipped falchion" "broken revolver" why don't we get a good item for once to start out with?
@LAWSON189 FRAPS doesn't encode the video, so it comes out as a .AVI file, which are big raw files. Use a video encoder to turn it into like .mp4 or a format you prefer

@EvilN00ber well first of all when I said it's art I didn't refer only to the graphics. The whole concept of Bioshock it's an art to me: strong story(really gonna be a movie someday), interesting characters, crazy scenarios( first they begin it underwater then they literary burst it into the skies, that's a risky thing to do for all the bioshock fans, it starts alot of gossip and controverse) and the graphics are not supposed to look realistic. You said it: they use Unreal Engine. love blands!

@Costinesuper haha yeah i guess that makes sense that art is not just all about graphics. Yeah even music counts haha, but honestly, i hate to say this, but in Blands, the wandering/scavenging music got boring very quickly for me, they're all the same yeah? Except when bigger enemies come and the music changes into another more intensive one. But still, nothing's perfect. My (a bit) un-satisfication on the music is nothing compared to how the graphics, mission stories impressed me crazily :DD

@EvilN00ber I really like post-apocalyptic scenarios, so I'm a huge fan for movie such as The day after tomorrow or 2012, so when I saw Borderlands I was like "wooh! post-apocalyptic shooter", but then I saw the graphics and yes!.. yes! I mean, don't get me wrong, I like Bioshock more than Borderlands, but borderlands has a blessed place in my "favorite games section" :)). it's superpower!

@Costinesuper haha nice one, high five. Same here, post apocalypse really interests me, but in Blands it's kinda.. less sad, less emotional than other post-apo games such as metro 2033. And.. you must like Fallout 3 + New Vegas, I'm guessing?

@EvilN00ber Yes, I liked it, though it has alot of buggs. But I like more Blands. The thing I like about Fallout it's that they keep more present time elements than in Blands, even the weapons. But damn! Borderlands has the most awesome weapons.

@Costinesuper ahha yeah, Borderlands 'stole' many things from other shooters as well, the mission/direction line at the middle-bottom of the screen, know that? Yeah, I think Cod4 started that? Anyways, I bet Cod stole many other stuff from other provious shooters as well, so hope Rage is gonna have more special stuff plus a bit of stealings ;)

@EvilN00ber yes, and 2011 / 2012 is gonna be a big year for shooters : if you didn't check out : brink, deus ex human revolution, homefront, Bioshock Infinite!!, rage, Duke nukem forever (2k), Spec ops: the line(2k special), dead space 2 was released, X-COM(another 2k, you must check this one out. Can't wait for it!) and many others. I'm not a freak, I actually have a life :)) I just like shooters, and games in specially.

@Costinesuper yeah still, rage is the one i'm looking forward the most to, because of all those huntings and loots and stuff in a single-player campaign of an FPS game, like in Blands, so Role-playish, soooo awesome.. You can get those looting elements in all MMORPGs but sometimes people get rly annoying right? Hey I personally don't think Blands devs are evil just because they took some other FPS's elements, because every other FPS's is doing it sooo. Hey what other looting FPS's are there??

@EvilN00ber as far as I know there aren't many. Most of them are 2k actually, blands, bioshock series, but also Fallout, right? there's a new shooter right now in stores, Bulletstorm and it has some crazy graphics and some Blands elements, have you checked it?

@Costinesuper oh yeah, i know it but haven't check if they have that weapon system like B-land's.. Yeah, crazy enough :) But actually, i personally think it's mostly the atmosphere in Bstorm that includes those nice explosion effects, the settings and sceneries (buildings, mountains, terrains, weather etc), and actually it's still realistic in Bstorm (like others, Mw2, Crysis etc), while in Blands the graphics are like.. cell shaded, sort of the drawn-using-pencil kind :) don't you think?? ahah

@StopFear i would guess the siren...since she can turn invisible and sneak away from enemies. meaning you can get to way points faster. my first was the soldier too, but i think ill play it again as the assassin next

This was an okay game, but the beginning few levels were boring, uneventful and just grinding. I hate how every game starts out like this. They need to try something like City of Heroes, where your character starts out super-powerful and eventually gets to be an epic legend. Why isn't every game like that? Instead of listing things like "rusty sword" "chipped falchion" "broken revolver" why don't we get a good item for once to start out with?

@LAWSON189 FRAPS doesn't encode the video, so it comes out as a .AVI file, which are big raw files. Use a video encoder to turn it into like .mp4 or a format you prefer
