  • Interesting comments, tOKEDIs. Thank you for sharing that bit of history. There are two Polynesian outliers in Micronesia: Kapingamarangi & Nukuoro, I am from Kapingamarangi. I have been searching for our roots until I stumble on this. The 1600's time line seem to make sense as my language(Kapingi) is so similar to that of Tokelau & Tuvalu - now Tikopia.

Denei hua dagu me e madagnudu ai gidadou. Godou ga dumalia mai nia me gu hai hala.

    Please post more.

  • WOW!!! I could not understand them but they are good!!

  • just to let u all know..these people are polynesians living in the midst of all the melanesians

  • The SI are part of Melanesia not Polynesia, but who cares, we are all islanders thats the only thing that matters to me

  • i know..but people on tikopia are polynesians..just look at them..they are not melanin or black like other melanesians

  • You just cant tell, try to find some pictures of Malukuan ppl (Ambon, Maluku, Moluccas, Spice Islands, etc). We are Melanesians aswell but dont look much like Vanuatuan ppl for example

  • Ok ure really dumb..i know u are melanesians because u live in melanesia..but ur blood is polynesian... thats why they look like samoans or polynesians..because polynesians voyaged there and settled there..das why i understand their langguages..and thats why they dont have any black melanesians living among them

  • Oke you probably know more about SI then I do, no need to call me dumb though.

  • Tikopia, Sikaiana, and Ontong Java, are Polys, majority of their population fled Atafu (Tokelau) during a war in the 1600's. They are closely related to Tokelau and Tuvalu in terms of language and culture. Just Google it!

  • tikopia has tongan blood there from tu'i momo the 10th tu'i tonga and his warriors

  • awesome

  • How precious. They could be a bunch of kids on an American street. I hope we learn we are one people soon.
