love it - I was introduced to this song on a Trouser Press magazine flexi disc which I still have - recently re-discovered where I had placed it and have quite enjoyed several times since
Fantastic track. This song is incredible from beginning to end. Lyrics, music, singing, musicianship and message. Jules never sounded this hard and rocky. Many other tracks on this album are worthy. What makes this song from former lead singer of Jules and the Polarbears so intense is the cello as lead-off instrument. I guess Alison Moyet agreed. She covered it warmly and beautifully.
Can someone post "The Longest Drink"?

Thank you so much for posting this!
I wish I could find it on iTunes, but I can't.
Remember the music video? I think it was set in a boys' school or something.
I never knew it was produced by Todd Rundgren.
I first saw the video on a video- show called"MV-60."
Very pre-MTV.
Thanks
