There is no justification behind it or reason but it gets them out of trouble and/or makes them seem more legit. However, there are others who have to pull the race card in entertainment because there is a stereotype about black people that won't go away unless we beat it into each others heads.

The crowd here is majority black and most of the poets on this show are speaking to other blacks trying to explain a lesson in the form of poetry. His is that we embrace things and let things go because people make us think its okay and he is sick of it. Getting a bit racist with your own race is necessary when you're trying to make them understand.
