to go on Safari from a wifi connection is FREE, however if you want to go on Safari (mobile browsing) outside of a wifi connection you need a data plan which costs money

have a large number of apps downloaded on your iphone shouldn't slow down your system. it doesn't store them in the ram and doesn't run them in the background. it stores them on the "hard drive" portion of memory which doesn't affect procession speed.

yeah if you jailbreak it, you're going to mess up the operating system and add a lot of unnecessary programming code to it... which will slow it down.

but the iphone operating system really is not slowed down by the # of apps of your phone... only by the number and type of apps currently running at the time.
