I think this game had loads of potential, but I think they knew they were going to be held to a gold standard, and thus canceled it. You can see that some thing were just totally awesome, and other things were just plain wonky. Control look pretty awkward for example, but the graphics and animations look great. And since Blizz is a game company based upon amazing gameplay, graphics and presentation weren't going to cut it.

World of Warcraft has a cling to it, or had, not its a very overused word to say it mildly. Second of all, you can easily create a Starcraft: Ghost like game with the SC2 editor, though it will be quite different, it can still be a third person shooter, even a first person one.

Just for the record-

the game was suspended indefinitely so they can focus on WoW, which does not mean cancelled. people seem to get the two mixed up. All it means is that they stopped it anf don't have a set date on when to start it again.

When they start on the game again, they'll probably make the graphics and gameplay smoother, it will probably be sweet.

first of all the game wasn't canceled it was postponed. second It wasn't being made by blizzard it was being funded by them. and the reason it was postponed is because of how many times it switched hands.and it is a zergling

Yep, the game is about a new character set after Broodwar events. And about the Infested Terran, considering that it was a unit with 500 damage and it could take ANY ground unit in the game, it would be pretty damn cheap to have walking nukes to fight with.
