  • will work on it braddah!

  • that's not "new here". that's damn near unborn status, liceman. (why you call yerself dat!?)

  • Eh das Ron Jacobs no? ;)

  • No! I mean yes! i mean... uhh. lemme check da credits. Yea i tink so.

  • hah, neat.

  • mahalo for sharing the magic..

  • what the song name you used in the beginning and do you know if cyril pahinui and gabby pahinui and that other pahinui is related???????????

  • "that other pahinui"?! Gabby Pahinui had many sons. and yes, I believe they are all related.

  • i must of downloaded like 15+ gabby songs

  • Gabby was the most. For me, there is no traditional Hawaiian music without Gabby and the Sons of Hawaii. They put it on the map for many of us haoles.

  • well, 'traditional Hawaiian music" existed before Gabby and still exists today. Real Hawaiian music contains no guitar or slack key. This doesn't diminish Gabby and ohana's volumnous contribution to contemporary Hawaiian music, but we did have Hawaiian music before the 40's. And much of it would be considered "traditional".

  • I quite agree! A goal of mine is to collect some of the other, earlier traditional Hawaiian music. Stuff from the 40s and before would be too much! I was turned on to Gabby and the Sons of Hawaii when I was about 8 or 9, livng in Ewa Beach.

  • Really unusual story.

  • Interesting stuff! Mahalo.
