I don't think so. Mine ate eucalyptus when she was a young nymph, guava and rose leaves as an adult. They are also supposed to like bramble, but ET didn't seem to care for it. Sadly, ET just passed away over the past weekend, at almost 10 months of age.
She layed lots of eggs. I hatched out a few, they grew up and lived their lives. I now have one insect that is the grandchild of the one in the video.
I'm no expert. This creature was from one of 3 eggs, and the only one that survived. The people I got the eggs from recommended a moistened vermiculite substrate. Hatching rate will depend on incubation conditions, and of course the quality of the ova and whether they are fertilized or not. Unfertilized ova can take a year to hatch.
bigfatchef2003: usually bowt 80% of them hatch if you LIGHTLY mist them with water every 2 days, some stick insects eggs take up to 2 years to hatch but most only take up to 4-6 months to hatch

I love these guys! Have any fertile eggs or babies?

I have lots of eggs. She has no mate, but this species is parthenogenetic (sp) so her eggs will still hatch, into all female offspring. Want some?
Buglady1104 5 years ago
