He claimed to be a Catholic and was by virtue of his baptism and not going through the steps of church leaving, making him Catholic in the same way that 72% of Swedes are Protestants. But Catholics have rules for their members. Hitler didn't follow them, not going to mass, killing priests, and starting the Protestant Reich Church. He claimed to be a Catholic and was by virtue of his baptism and not going through the steps of church leaving, making him Catholic in the same way that 72% of Swedes are Protestants. But Catholics have rules for their members. Hitler didn't follow them, not going to mass, killing priests, and starting the Protestant Reich Church. This meant Hitler was not in communion with the Catholic church making him a lapsed Catholic. (In fact his other dealings made him an apostate)

He was married by a Christian clergy member, he ordered Mosques & Synagogues destroyed in areas they controlled, yet preserved Christian Churches. I'm sorry but Hitler was baptized a christian. He worked as an alter boy, wrote glowingly about his love of Jesus, and worked closely with the christian church during the Holocaust. There is no record of him ever renouncing his faith, he was never excommunicated. Hitler was a christian. Not the whole church, though, just look up Deitrich Boenhoffer and Martin Neimoller, they were church leaders who stood up against Hitler (Boenhoffer paid with his life.) But there were plenty of people in a country with no food, no money, and no hope who were willing to throw over their Christianity and follow Hitler. But the whole truth is still important.

In truth though, there were very few Nazi supporting priests. Historian Kevin Spicer found only about 138 out of more than 40,000 Catholic priests in WWII Germany were "Brown Priests".

That is why Hitler's demands in the Concordat was that the Catholic Center Party disband, and that clergy are not allowed to participate politically, because they were his most powerful rival. In return, he would recognize them and let them worship and run their churches as they pleased. And if you read the Nuremberg Trial transcipts, you can see the Nazis "almost immediately commenced a series of violations of the Concordat"

no, he was catholic, they are alot different than christians, i would know, im a christian, and by the way, he didnt kill them because he was catholic either, he killed them because he is evil, period, there is never a good reason to kill, and some people thinks he killed because he was athiest, but he didnt kill because of that either, even if he was athiest he probably would have killed a different group of people. i hope you dont feel atacked because thats not my intention lol

Not because he was catholic, atheist, nazi, jew hater or whatever other label people want to give him. It really is that simple. But in my experience christians, catholics especially like to make people believe Hitler was atheist and ALL his actions were because of that, in the name of atheism. Pure BS.

I think it's just that some Christians really are trying to change history. They don't want anyone to know that Hitler was a Christian.
Personally, I think Hitler was as much as a Christian as Osama Bin Laden was a Muslim. Both are extremists, neither following the basic principles of the religions they claimed to be a part of.
Before responding to my post, just know that "I've read my history books" so that 'argument' won't work with me.

His thinking can be found in the idea of the superman, and the ridding of Christian compassion as a weakness as found in Friedrich Nietzsche the atheist philosopher. All talk of Mein Kampf, belt buckles, being baptised as a Catholic is not any evidence to him worshiping Christ... it is ALL refutable... if you cared to really check. Hitler's "final solution" to the "Jewish question" was killing them, not expelling them like the Catholic kings (though Hitler did start out with expulsion). And he did not discriminate between Jews, all, including women and children were sent to death camps (in fact, ESPECIALLY women and children, Jewish men were often used to work).
You seem to be completely misinformed, because his main method of justification was blaming communism on the Jews.

When it comes to soldiers, in my humble opinion of course, more than a faith, what they profess is a superstition, What I mean is that they just stay in the signs and "procedures" (such as the sign of the cross), but not true faith. It's hard for me to believe that even believing in a god that teaches love (in which I don't think there is) they can go and kill people. Just my opinion

When the atheist jew-funded communists ransacked Hitler's private library one of the books stood out as the most paged-thru of them all which translates in English to "The Words Of Christ". The "holocaust" propaganda lies were spread to slander all Christians in addition to the Germans.

@teel6060 Hi, I just want to make a point here. The fact that they say are christians does not make them so per se. For example: Dictator Augusto Pinochet Ugarte killed and tortured thousands of people (giving the orders, of course) of Chile during his dictatorship, and he said he was a christian, in fact he was seen going to church at least once a week with his family. I know nothing about Hitler, but I know that army men are superstitious more than religious.
