Oh man, I can't imagine living with a cat for 30+ years and then losing it. That's a real personal tragedy. The fact that he is able to sustain these animals for such a long period of time says something distinct about his personality. I mean, look how well behaved his kitties are and how serenely calm they are. This guy must have a pretty good understanding of what life is :)

Others have claimed that they lived longer than Jeanne Calment, but she was the only one with all the proof and documentation, so she got the title.
@veryslyfox You are so stupid for actually believing in that "Cat vs. Man year ratio", a year is a year regardless of species, when people say 1 human year is equal to 8 cat years or so they are just stating the average, there is no reason why a cat cannot reach well into its 30:s just because Human beings very rarely make it past 115-120
he took good care of his cats, vet visits, low stress life, good diet, lots of love and affection, its a combination of all the above led to their long life.

Great video! I wonder if he mixes the coffee with the bacon, eggs, and broccoli, or just gave Grandpa coffee grounds on the side. My old cat Fluffy lived to be over 20. My grandma fed her buttered corn on the cob every day from our crops.
Inspirational. Hopefully I can look after my cat this well. I'm glad he doesn't feed them cat food, I've been told it's not good for them. Beef, chicken and fish, all cooked plain.
I never used to be a cat person but when my wife and I were first dating she had a cat named Kiki that I got really attached to. Lots of personality, very lovable, just an all around great cat. I was devastated when she died. Kiki changed my whole out look on cats. Now we have three of them and much like Mr. Perry I can't imagine life without them :-)

I just came across this video from a reference on Catarack; a 30 something cat that just died recently. My cat Roxie just passed away. I cried when she died. Watching this was so amazing. This man truly loved his cats!
Funny, I heard about you from one of your clients about a year ago...I feed the kitties (and actually adopted two of them) at HEB every day, usually twice, and thought perhaps she was mistaken about a man from Austin having the oldest living kitty. How cool - I inadvertently ran across your name in another "cat" article posted. Thanks for your kindness to cats...I too love my five kitties at home and two at HEB!
Good to see people who truly care about animals. I didn't like the comment from the girl at the - shelter was it? - calling him a cat "owner". People need to stop using that term and use something appropriate like guardian because pets are not objects to be owned! I think this man knows that if she doesn't.
