I does look like a poor spot for a fire, but he says his fingers are too cold to open the canister, and he is wearing a rain jacket. More importantly the firs doesn't appear to spread in the time he is talking. If it were me, I'd clear a better spot. Interesting video though.
Coming from a a fireman that has had to spend hours putting out field fires, your pick of locations for this video was far less than stellar. I have seen little adventures such as this take out barns, homes and people. Spend a minute to think your way through and at least clean out a spot of bare earth before you go playing with fire again. Please.
