  • In this music is Racine but also have rock on it, the reason I said Compas is because those guys play Compa too, I have most of there music. They don't play one particular beat or rythm, they play play Jazz, rock, funk, racine, compa, pop too. If you really listen to some of his song some have different Genre @ reziboy100

  • Again and again...."Adje" is a beautiful song....well...I do not know the lyrics but

the music and Joel Widmaier voice....

Recently we had here in Miami, Florida the "12th. Haitian Music Festival" in

"Bayfront Park" and for me was a pleasure to listen "Adje", and Joel with the

same force in his voice as when he was young.

...And it is true...this singer feels the music profound in his soul while singing.

That makes him a great artist and admirers like me.

  • I'ts been such a long time since I heard of ZEKLE. Thanks ambreginny for posting this vid. Man I love one of their original songs, saying, "2 timoun ki grandi nan lakou kay yon vwayinn. Nan rara le yo tal tande vaksinn, min lanmou yo te pran rasinn. La vi pa dous pou ti moun peyi Desalinn; kares ap fe mize pase pou siwolinn. Destin nou toujou rete yon sekre nou vle konnen. Vinn pi prem, kinbe minm. Ret' avem, demin kapab pou nou..." How many of you remember this hit song?

  • Gwozago, se granmoun ou ye?

  • As a little boy growing up, I used to sing that song to my little minanj. & there is a part that goes like this: "....Sim paka minnew cheri nan syel, n' a rete sou la kansyel...Vinn pi prem, kinbe minm, ret' avem, demin kapab pou nou. C'etait du bon vieux temps. Le mwen te konn fe ti lago kache. lol lol

  • anbreginny, sorry for taking so long replying. I have a good memory, & I can remember stuff way back since I was five years old. Believe it or not. You know "granmou" brings wisdom. ah ah ha ha. Epi se tann dat map tann pou yon cheve blan paret nan tet mwen, m' pa konn kisa lap tann.lol lol lol lol lol lol lol

  • I remember this one goes like this**~min kimele'm sa pa gade'm map juit lavi'm ak pil ou face m'ap jwe guita'm wap bat kata'w nap juit lavi'n ak pil ou fase.....

  • @GWOZAGO The name is "Chante Lanmou"

  • i think this is haitian rock.

  • I have to admit , they sound like a Haitian Bon Jovi , near the end reminds me of one of those guys'songs.

  • Boy i love this band , this is what i call music!

  • what type of haitian music is that? that's not kompa right?

  • The Widmaier brothers are very creative when it comes to music. after all, they live and breathe it, and it's only right they didn't want their band to sound like others. That distinct sound they played became known as "kompa funk". I guess it's bc there were no other names to call it, and although they remain one of Haiti's most popular musicians, that new genre didn't really catch on with others.

  • @sbourdeau83 As you may know, Haitian art is very diverse. Kompa has beome the well known music to our days; however it is relatively young. This music is one of the "Racin Contemporain" music. This group has other songs with all different vibes, which made them great.

  • Comment removed

  • @sbourdeau83 you would not understand, it may be beyond your comprehension, not to insult you or anything.

  • what is again. where he born in haiti?

  • not sure where they're from. Safe guess is Petion-Ville/PAP. they happen to also be modern jazz players.

  • good old zekle stuff. I like the fact that they try to push the envelope of haitian music instead of being a photocopy of the same old thing over and over again. All our music and all the band sound alike. same tempo, same beat, same grove and the same subject. Good job Zekle
