I hear these CODAR signals on several frequencies between 4 and 5 MHz in the Eastern California Desert. I just learned via Glenn Hauser's "World of Radio" program recently what this very annoying, jamming signal is. One of the most strongest in centered on about 5200 kHz in my area--in the daytime too. So that's what that is. I've always wondered what that was. WWCR has since moved to 4840, so at least that isn't a problem for them anymore. Thanks for posting this. You learn something everyday.
A couple of weeks ago, I also heard this kind of signal somewhere in the 60 meter band here at my QTH in North Germany and wondered what it could be. Now I know what it is.
also copy the signal in tahiti , with a simple vertical antenna.

I copy that also in France and Portugal, and sometimes it's strong... where can I get more informations about that ?
