  • Hi what brand of suit is this? They are 100% sealed even hands and feet and will not let water threw?

  • @Yberrion These Hazmat suits are training suits & Are Not vapor tight. The real Level A suit is Vapor & Liquid tight... Google Search DuPont Level A Suits & you should find what you need...

  • Funny

  • @Duetschgas Yeah... Most people can't understand why we're doing this... It's to build confidence in the Hazmat worker who may fall into a body of water while working in a Level A Suit... Thanks for stopping by FirehouseMike...

  • just buy a gas mask some rubber gloves and a rain suit

  • the prices are freakin increadible for the suites and chewytube you know u need an scba under it so unless your day is 2 hours long your screwed

  • I'd love to get one of these suits. It'd be funny to arrive at school with one, since all of this flu stuff!

And just to make people wonder :P

Then I saw the prices, no thanks!

  • Hey Chewytube1... Yeah even the training suits cost between $150.00 to $1,000.00 dollars because of the product they're made of. Thanks for stopping by my little spot here on the net.

  • @FirehouseMike I got 2 level 4 HAZMAT suits... for FREE

  • @poik12 how please i wanna know, i can send you an NBC in return if you want!

  • @YRUIM My dad went on a buisness trip to Alabama he was there because he had to do the safety courses for the Company, so at the end of the course, your given 2 level 4's and 1 expired level 3

  • @poik12 how, is it legal?

  • @hackingtime88 how is it not?

  • @FirehouseMike i have one thats just for civilians it costed like 75.00 and then im buying the one that is like 500.00

  • @Chewytube1 I know you posted this a year ago, but I got a never used, full body NBC suit for $20. It isnt watertight of course, its just a large, camouflaged, charcoal lined suit designed to keep out hazardous dust. I got a new gas mask for $30, but for $50 you can get one with a drinking tube.

  • @SoCalSummerSquad Cool. I saw that there's an emergency supply store/ firefighter store somewhere around my area, I might have to see what they have!

  • Hazmat suits or so awesome lol are they heavy and hard to put on?

  • No CaliWolfProductions, they're not heavy however they do require assistance to put on. If you're not familiar with them you should also know that the person in the Hazmat Suit must wear a Self Contained Breathing Apparatus. (SCBA)

  • Thats neat, thanks for the info and i just learned something new!

  • Cool... Anytime you have Fire Dept. or Hazardous Materials questions feel free to drop me a line.

    Happy Thanksgiving.

  • @FirehouseMike If you buy a a new or used hazmat uit, how do u know if it has been used around toxic gasses or liquids?

  • @trucker44100 Thanks for stopping by FirehouseMike & viewing the videos. Trucker44100 in this day & age you don't want to buy used Hazmat Suits. OSHA & EPA set the testing standards for all Hazmat Suits. They also set the training standards for people using these suits. You're employer is required to provide proper training before requiring you to work in these suits. For your own safety you don't want to be in one of these suits until you've been properly trained on; Proper Suit Selection, SCBA

  • omg i could never do that, it seems so scarry

  • lold at the part when everyone stares at the one guy zipping thro

  • I hated doing that, you get used to it after about 20 minutes of so, still pretty scary when you first jump in.

  • Thanks for your comment NewbernFireDept,

I'm a Technician Level Responder with a Cargo Tank Specialty

  • so like. there is no way water can get into the suit right? except for a cut or something right?

  • Hey NewbernFireDept, the Hazmat suit floats not only because it traps air inside with the responder as well as the SCBA. The suit also floats because of the multible layers of material used to make the suit a chemical protective garment. These suits float regardless of puctures, tears or even having the zipper opened.

Thanks for stopping by FirehouseMIke... be sure to check out my MySpace

    "Firefighters Keep Them Safe"

  • haha, no problem dude. I appreciate u helpin me out with the question

  • If the suit is a true "Level A" then it will be pressure tight & liquid tight. However it does have pressure vents that allow the suit to vent overpressure caused by the responder breathing into the suit. This vent could seep some water but for the most part the "Level A" shouldn't leak unless it is cut or torn.

The other Levels of Chemical Protective Clothing (CPC) are not vapor tight so liquids will be able to inter the suit through Zippers & Seams.

  • thanx again. one more thing. In my hazmat tech class, the closest response team is in the next county, will i still be able to apply? and if not, I may apply for a private organization as a contractor. but can i still take the class when im not on a response team?

  • Hey HewBernFireDept,

I don't see why you couldn't do both. You would be supprised at the number of private contractors who hire firefighters to work on their off duty days or contractors that respond as volunteer firefighters. As for you working with a hazmat team that is in the next county... That shouldn't be a problem because nothing at a hazmat scene happens fast, you should have time to get there and still be a big help.

    Best of Luck,

    FirehouseMike (Old guy)

  • Thank you much. Wut level Hazmat r u?

  • hahaha, nice vid. I honestly didn't kno they were boiant lol. I plan on taking my HAZMAT tech classes after i finish my EMT class. Then on to obtaining my Radiological Specialist Cert after that

  • Hey that's great... Good Luck with the EMT program... Yes the all of the encapsulated suits as well as rail/acid suits that incorporate the SCBA will float in water...

Remember that chemicals will have different Specific Gravities so the buoyancy of objects will change as will the depth or height an object will float in that different chimical. This is based on Archimedes's "Theory of Displacement" he was the greatest mathematician of his age.

  • what are some of the big questions that will be asked on the hazmat tech test?

  • hey hazmats are just robots trained by people

  • ITS ABOUT TIME!!

  • Hey WFD1921... I don't understand your comment"Its about time". Level A Suits have always been boiant. Please explain.

  • Oh sorry. I never knew that. I haven't taken the Haz-Mat course yet. I'm looking into it alot though. My Dad told me that it's a good thing to know how to do. C- Shift at my station doesn't have any guys trained to do things like that so thats why I am studying this.

  • Thats Cool... You're young enough you can do anything you want. All you have to do is set your goals and bench mark your progress. Good Luck
