@kalargyi If you had brains you would. Good luck selling a gas guzzling truck 7 years from now. Who knows what will happen with gas prices in that time. You pay $70k for it and you basically keep it forever.
like the betls, and all other components of the engine. as every car enthusiast knows that if one part starts to give out and was neglected it affects other parts making it more expensive to fix. idk thats my take on it. everyone can correct me. but id rather get a gas instead of this TDI even though how promising this is. not everyone has that money to constantly have maintenance for a car like this.
diesels are amazing because here in canada they are cheap plus the figures it produces specially on the torque part. it makes a small engine peppy due to torque for example the golf TDI but the downside to diesel (as i have own one) that the maintenance cost is a bit high compared to gas. due to a powerful engine and powerful gas the parts around it gives up before the main engine gives out. so you need to be a really close observer to maintain a car like this
I'd rather buy the new 2012 VW Touareg, I find it better looking. And the TDI engine is the same I think. VW uses a 3.0 TDI engine, with 8 speed gear box. You should make a review a bout it Steve. I'd love to see it.
@rickyhdz7 I have the new redesigned touareg tdi, and i can say i'm totally enamered with it. I've been averaging over 35 us mpg combined, which is unheard of with a vehicle this size. Mind you the mileage is getting better with more miles on the odo. It may even get better. It also handles like a sports car. There's no competition to the Touareg, imho.
@Spyster007 I too have the new Touareg, I bought the 2012 tdi, about 4 weeks ago. I'm in love with the car! I love the interior, performance, fuel economy etc! VW is really making good redesigns! I'm a big fan of VW and I would like to see the new 2012 VW Tiguan, which is going to be redesigned.
@rickyhdz7 the Q7 is a good foot longer, with 3rd row seating, though if you're only looking for a midsize SUV like the Touareg, you'll spend a good $5000 less on the Touareg, and much much less if you choose the diesel, it's all preference and perception.
Ive seen the tdi go up to 35+ mpg b4

The price in US is actually really cheap if you compare with the price here in Europe.

Hmmmm... at this price range, you might want to consider Porsche Cayenne

@Sitti2300 No third row in the Cayenne, and a Cayenne is still far more expensive for a nice trim.
