I went there in July and the place was packed. I had the baked Alaska that you could see them working on several times during the episode, which, after a huge meal was a little hard to take on, but I'm proud to say i got about half way through it. :)
Finding a white guy in New Orleans is probably tough... Sometimes you have to look twice at a white guy to know if he is or not. Like the waiter there he was talking to.... You could tell he's creole. At first I thought he was white. I think it's great though. I think the entire world should be creole.
@TheBellaTenenbaum If you look at him closely, he looks Italian. Many creoles often do. He could very well be italian. Back in the 50s, there were a number of Italian "business men." cough cough... running several parts of New Orleans. all through out New Orleans. I know they weren't natives. Mostly immigrants. So if he was born there, my guess his mother is either black/creole, or Italian herself but his voice and vernacular give it away. There's no Italian precision but I could be wrong..
I just watched this show, and there was I part I just caught the end of, showing a guy who lived on a cool looking "shantyboat", or houseboat. I didn't catch his name......anyone remember? Thanks
I love Antoine's, we spent a few days there having lunch and appetizers in the bar area and having amazing cocktails for our honeymoon. The restaurant and dining areas are amazing!!!
Antoine's is truely terrible. I've given them many chances and I'm through. Everyone in the city knows why their dining rooms are empty, they deserve to close.
I disagree. Antoine's is a symbol of what New Orleans is- when the Times-Picayune announced in December 2006 that Antoine's might close, the New Orleans Old Guard all showed up for dinner. It's about the attitude of the New Orleanian- an attitude of enjoyment. And it's delicious.
I can eat everything on the menu and probably have come close to doing that! Louisiana Residents need to re-discover the French Quarter and all it has to offer!

Tom Fitzmorris has never been the voice of food in New Orleans. He claims to be and has a radio show but the locals ignore him.

I hope they're doing well, would be a shame to see such a unique and historic restaurant go out of business.
