I'd recommend to all to go for the Makita BTD144 with the brushless motor. Amazing power, rated at 1460 inch lbs I believe. Also has 3 speed settings for finer work. Best impact you can get by far from what I've seen. I've owned this Dewalt and the variable speed trigger doesn't have enough travel to do any sort of fine work such as hanging doors for example. And it doesn't have the nice feel that the makita has either.

Yea, while the compact DeWalt DC827 has only 1300 in-lbs of torque, the DC820 has 1740 in-lbs of torque and the DW059 3600 in-lbs of torque. And the MIlwaukee M18 certainly needs that longer warranty.
I stopped buying Dewalt. their batteries are terrible, new packs last six months without use and four months with use.
