this is actually a really decent video game i can't imagine it. its a whole lot better than cod4. ive only reached the second prestige ! im so thrilled. got the game only yesterday as a result of mw2forfreeZinfo (replace Z with . ) however , im definitely beating most people!
Ok so I am looking into upgrading my graphics card and I am on kind of a tight budget. Currently I have a ATI HD2400 pro (1gb version) and I was just wondering if I would see a big difference in games if I was to upgrade to this card? I found a Nvidia Geforce 9500gt (1gb I think) within in my price range anything else seems to be over it. Is it worth a buy. Currently I get like 12fps on CoD4 maxed with my ATI card. Much thanks. Need any other details on my comp let me know.
Make sure you have a PCI-E 2.0 slot on your mobo. The 9500gt is a low/midrange gfx card but i does the job for cod 4. I recommend a higher end gfx card like my current HD4890, but probably well outta your price range. also check your cpu's specs and consider upgrading it to prevent bottlenecking.
@rockroc1 by the looks of it, it is just slightly out of my price range. Erm what's the easiest way to tell if I have a PCI-E 2.0 slot on my motherboard (bit of a noobish question, I know)? And currently my CPU is rated at about 5.4ghz (dual core each running about 2.8ghz)
no that just makes your cpu 28ghz the two cores just split the work. do research on your motherboard to determine the slots you have. to get the info you open up. (in xp) start-run dxdiag. (vista/7) start- in the dialogue box type dxdiag.
@rockroc1 Sorry to be bothering you again, but I was looking at the GT 220 cards and they are just within my price range (well that one I found was). Should I get that instead of the 9500gt? BTW I subbed for all that help you gave me thnx
I'm upgrading from my 9500T, going over to ATI, HD 4770! :) Which is a massive improvent from my first comp. GeForce 6600! lol. Also, doubling my current (2GB) to 4GB from DDR2 to DDR3 at 1600. I also had a Wolfdale, moving to a Athlon II X2 550. Hope to run flawlessly.
gaming is reliant not only on your gpu but also your cpu. powerful cpu+gpu = fluid gameplay your gpu may be limiting your cpu and vice versa. its always a better idea to have a more powerful gpu than cpu. as of now i have an ATI Radeon HD4890 1gb GDDR5 and my CPU (Intel Core 2 Duo E7300) is overclocked at 3.00Ghz your OS also plays a major role. I recommend Windows 7 DX 10 is a major improvement over DX9
You should have no issue then, update your drivers, and grab the latest release of directX also be sure to defrag and clean your registry to remove errors, and do a disk cleanup. I recommend the programs ccleaner, auslogics disk defrag, and eusing free registry cleaner.
also dual channel doesnt mean your 2gb of ram is 4gb of ram, its only 2gb of ram dual channel is a term used describe the speed, instead of one data stream its 2. so you have 2gb of ram amd athlon x2 at 2.1 and the nvidia geforce 9500gt, do the steps i gave b4 and you should be fine if not its time for a hardware upgrade, or a fresh windows install.
Windows 7 has DirectX 10 which is a major improvement over Windows XP's DirectX 9 Also Windows 7 boots faster and performs better, from my experience. Therefore Windows 7 is better than XP in my opinion.
I upgraded my bios successfully once, the second update to my bios corrupted my bios so really i dont see the point of taking the risk, I will never again. cost me a motherboard.
thanks, nVidia is good, no doubt but It was speed vs raw power so i just went ATI and havent regretted my choice, also ATI prices are way!!!!!! lower than nVidia.
I told you how many i got in the video. You can basically run almost anything maxed out with this card and get good FPS but I'm upgrading to the GTS 250 for overkill.
i genially hate this mission or this driving segment with a passion lol

Do you think a PC using this card and 4GB of RAM with Pentium Dual Core (Not Core 2) at 2.4GHz will run good?
